Does Anyone Do Super-Sets, Anymore???

I'm not talking about doing 2 exercises for the same bodypart. Lets say you work Chest & Back on the same day. You do a set of DB Benches then do a set of Chins. Take a minute break and repeat until you completed 2-3 sets. Then, start another set of exercises. You'd do Biceps & Triceps on another day and Quads & Hamstrings on another. You can throw Shoulders in on Leg day or Arms. I read an article by Charles Poliquin that stated this was a VERY effective way to train to build muscle and lose ALOT of bodyfat. What do you think??

I've never tried it b/c its too inconvenient at the gym. I'd be running from one side of the room to the other and hoping someone didn't take my spot in the meantime. I'd also think my fellow lifters might be pissed that I was hogging 2 stations at once!

It would be useful getting ready for a contest, or if you are on a tight schedule and need to fit everything into a set time. I sometimes do a set of curls and close grip press in a superset fashion, but I could never do something like deads and something else together. That would probably kill me! ;p

super sets are awesome on occasion, Chest/Back are fantastic as well as Bi/Tri. The pump is insane and truly tests you mentally as well.

i switched to only supersets a while ago.. i like the feel of it a lot. after you do a max set of inclince DB press, you can go straight to weighted pullups with barely any rest at all. same with tri/bis, go really heavy on one, then go straight to the other (i almost feel like the previous pump from my bis helps my tris, and vice versa). good times.

I like doing chest and back. I do Incline presses ss with Bent Rows, and then Flat Flyed superset with db shrugs or dumbell rows. I do these specifically b/c I don't have to inconvenience anyone else. With the first, I just load the bar on the ground in front of the bench, and the second, I set up the bd's I need in front of the fly bench.

i superset my squat assistance work.

a set of reverse hypers, a set of glute/hams, a set of abs, and do that 3 times

My HST routine is one giant superset, which muscles alternating form start to finish. I finished it in 15 minutes one time when the gym was about to close.

I do them once in a while, not as often anymore though. I might superset some stuff like 1 workout out of every 40. I do superset abs with grip work frequently though, but I dont consider that the same thing as supersetting, say bis and tris.

Not really superset, but will do push presses after squats, cause I'm already in the rack, before I go to leg ext & curls.
