Hey Thaibox, sounds like you are falling prey to a Dr. that just wants you to keep coming back for pain meds.I have seen it happen a few times with some of the Docs I have worked for. The simple scenario is that if he operates on you, you get better and stop seeing him. If he gets you addicted to pain killers, he keeps you coming back every 3-4 weeks for another Appt, which is money in his pocket. One consideration for you is a procedure called a percutaneous discectomy. One of the Docs I work for has been doing them for years with about an 80% success rate. It will take care of your problem without having an incision made on your back and putting you out of comission for a couple months. Most of our patients are back to normal activity in 3-4 weeks. You may want to ask your Doc about them. If he has done any and is good at it he will have very favorable things to say about it. There is a learning curve to this procedure however, but if a good Dr has mastered it you will have excellent results. I'm sure you can find more info about it on the web if you just do a simple search. P.M. me if you have any questions.
