Do you work on your days off?

yes and no when a boss/corp gives you a pc for home and office use, it is not because they like you but it is a form of a rope around your ankle and they own you 24-7. When the market closes I cannot do a thing so at the same no.
 
I feel like i have to at least have access to my emails so I can see what's going down while im gone, and so i can be prepared for when I return. id rather read them on my days off than get back to work after being off, and have 1,000,000 emails to go through. make sense?

i guess a lot of it has to do with the nature of your job. my operation is 24/7 so even when Im not there, its up and running. and on days when Im not there, I like to check messages and see where we're at.
my job didnt supply me with any computers though. so i dont think they expect me to do this, its just what Im comfortable doing.
 
I have to be available at all times.its the one part of the job I hat.orders get fucked up I have to come in and fix them.people call in I have to fill in or find some one who will.we get slammed out of no were I have to come in and back up and make shore we dont run out of food,some one calls in for a wedding or function and they want to have it in a week then I have to come in and run around,some thing brakes I have to call to get it fixed,some one quits I have to cover,but if all runs smooth I have nothing to do mos of the time.
 
there was always betting going on at the office for days I was off
They knew I would always show up to see how things were going and pick up mail..etc.

I haven't been doing it lately now that there is a new boss..he tends to drive me crazy. I prefer to spend as less time possible with him
 
I could never imagine not doing that. The industry I work in doesn't stop for days off, so it is what it is. I have today off, but still had to go into the office to pick up some collateral, bring it home, count it, then overnight it to the client.

Fun times. It is what it is.
 
Occasionally if I have something due on Monday that I wasn't able to get finished
on Friday, I'll work a couple hours max on the weekend..

I rarely if ever check email from home as that's just asking for work
 
other than my two weeks at the beach every year, i don't really have any "days off" since my wife decided to stay home with the kids and i started my own practice. . .i take my computer and cell phone with me on vacation and i'm online three or four times a day, checking and returning e-mails, doing research. . .i'm usually on my cell three or four times a day too. . .conducting business. . .i guess the answer is "yes". . .
 
I don't have any access to the company computer sites/email at home, so no....
