Do you think if a man doesn't wear a watch it says anything (+ or -) about him?

I overheard a guy talking to two young girls (daughters?) about some things. What I heard him say was basically that if a guy doesn't wear a watch it says that he is disorganized and sloppy, probably goes from job to job without spending much time at any one, has a hard time committing to anything/anyone...blah, blah, blah.
how old is this father? was he born in 1948?

I think what it means when a man doesn't wear a watch is simple, he doesn't have one. LOL

I wear a watch everyday and feel wierd without one. Here is the wierd thing for our day. I don't carry a cell phone! I hate people being able to get me whenever they want me. Since I quit carrying one my stress level has decreased dramatically!

I'm stressed when I don't have my blackberry. It has all my contacts, calendar, email etc. I have teams working all over the country and a team of developers working in India. I need to be available 24/7 so I can resolve issues immiediately and keep them billing. Life is all about the billable hour for me, at least when it comes to business.

What do you think? Agree or disagree? Buncha shit I say.

Anyone else think along these lines or make similar generalizations? Is this something that I just don't notice, or am I not as much of a judgemental bastard as I thought I was (if not I will be disappointed)?

Just curious.
sounds like he doesn't want his daughters to leave home to me....

Unless I am in the shower or going to the gym I have a watch on. Been wearing one for 16 years so I just don't feel right without it on. I love my current watch it's an all stainless steel Tissot. Plus I have a thing about knowing what time it is and it's a lot easier to look at my watch than to get my phone out and turn the screen on to check the time.

I do disagree with that asshat's assumption. I am just as lazy and run just as late without a watch as I do with one.

Cheers,
Scotsman

I wear one when at work or involved in some activity where it's critical. When I'm on my time, on on MY TIME. I won't wear a watch as it doesn't matter what time it is. I don't get in a hurry to do other things if I'm enjoying what I'm doing. I usually leave the cell behind as well.

I haven't worn my watch for a couple of months and i still flick my wrist like I'm adjusting the way is sits on me. I need a new battery or something and have been too lazy to get it replaced. So yeah... I've been lazy since I haven't worn it. he's right.

Yep. That guy showed it by the generalization he made.

So what did the girls say? "Ohhhhh, good to know... thanks". lol

He probably sells watches for a living.

lol...I was standing there waiting for my coffee, and looked over at them. The girls were looking at me and looking at my wrists, looking at their dad, looking back at me...looking a bit nervous and embarassed.

The dad looked at me, I looked at my wrists, looked back at him and said, "No watch, guess I'm a mess huh?" He started rambling about how he was trying to teach his daughters...I interrupted him and said, "I guess there's always exceptions to everything." I turned around and got my coffee.

Now that I think about though, it was a Monday (or was it Tuesday?) at 10:30am, and I was wearing board shorts, flip-flops, and a tank top (with no watch). He probably thought I was proving his point. But...I am on vacation mother-fucker! What was his excuse? :p

He was in his mid to late 30's, rnch. Little fucker too!

You bastard!!! :p

Two means to establish if a man has money.
1 a fine time piece, not flashy or gaudy but simple and understated but expensive and a fine piece of art
2 his shoes, comfortable simple and not the square fairy toe crap designer made in Maylasia they have now.

Other than that old men always know more than shit I forget what I was saying

that's why i have a cell phone / pda....so i don't have to wear some heavy, annoying hunk of crap on my wrist.
You neeed to get some forearms bro. I wear a watch, there are plenty of situations where I don't want to reach for my phone to check the time and besides, if you have decent forearms a then a decent watch looks good, too. You don't need to wear a Rolex for that, for myself anything over $500 would be going overboard on a watch.
