i agree to a certain extent. . .i think that we've frigged this planet up. . .whether it will lead to the extinction of the human race remains to be seen. . .i think the next hundred years are probably critical. . .

i dunno. . .friggin glaciers are melting but we're gonna get up to a foot of snow here in nc pa this weekend. . .wtf??

Here is something to think about. If you take a glass and fill it all the way up with ice and then fill it with water, when the ice melts, it will NOT over flow the glass.

In theroy, the same thing should occur with the glaciers. If the glaciers melt, there should not be any flooding.

When water is frozen, it expands and takes up more surface area than when it is in it's liquid form.

I say fuck the glaciers, let 'em melt.

But that assumes the ice is already displacing water, right? The really huge glaciers under discussion rise far above the water line, so a lot of that frozen water isnt currently displacing liquid water.

I think. Samoth, Nate? What the fuck.

This is true. I don't know what would happen because the majority of the glacier is under water. If 70%-90% of the glacier is underwater, there might be enough displacement to make up for the other 10%-30% that is above water.

If not, maybe the costal areas will be introuble? Who the hell knows!!!!
