Do you tell your doctor your on AAS?

I'm on HRT and my doc doesn't know. He prob figured something is up since I've gained lots of weight but I'm not telling him nothing. Honestly there is no positive outcome of him knowing about what I do....if anything goes wrong it's all HRT related.
Besides, there isn't much for him to help me with if something goes wrong anyway, what's he going to do hold my hand? LOL
Some of you guys are playing with fire telling your doc your business IMHO and this info does go in your file. As a matter of fact in my original file he did ask if I took anabolics and since my insurance pays i'm sure the info would be disclosed if asked by the insurance. Maybe you have a cool doc but it's no guarranty.

Any legal eagles on here that can help with this?

My Dr and I had a very frank discussion. He works with professional athletes and knows his shit. I told him everything strait up. Juice, booze, blow you name it. He told me he appreciated that and that it will help us in the future. He told me none of it would go on my chart so it would not screw up my life.
When you apply for life insurance everything in your file comes up!

Absolutely..it is advised to have your doc in the loop. All information between you and him is strictly confidential and I have him take blood tests after every cycle for me. He does not completely approve but he manages any problems I have if they arise.
i would never tell him unless there was a problem related directly...you are screwing yourself...wonder what would happen when your insurance company sees your a steroid abuser...could they drop you?

I worry if I come clean, I will no longer be clean

yes my hrt i got i told him nothing..even though i was on gh and my igf levels came back thru the roof...lolol

Yes.

In fact, he suggested I use only those aas that are midcaly prescribed. (test, deca, oxandrolone and anadrol).

I told him I was using anadrol, and he just told me to keep it at 100mg for no more than 6 weeks and I would never ever have long term effects. They prescribe 50mg to children, so...

He was cool with it. He also told me to use only guaranteed legit stuff. He started out in sports medicine, so he knows the juice loop.

just read my signature.. if you don't have a PCP whose knowledgeable about AS find one. Routine bloodwork, AI's and preventative antibiotics are just a few of the many benefits a good doctor can provide.

Well, here's my 2 cents from someone who tells my doctor everything from day 1 and was told to do so by him for various reasons:

1) If you do not tell him... then when you come up with high liver enzymes, high blood pressure, terrible cholesterol numbers, and elevated testosterone levels, etc., your going to have to find a way to explain to him why you have those statistics. If you refuse to admit you take steroids, your going to have in your medical history that you have a ton of issues that are unaccounted for, and that you didn't take any medications to fix the problems.

2) Your medical notes never go to your insurance carrier. Your insurance company doesn't even get to see your blood panel work unless you authorize it when it's time to re-up your insurance. The only things your insurance company sees is how many visits you had to the Dr, what kind of doctor it was, and what medications you actually filled at the pharmacy because they pay your co-pays to Walgreens, etc.

3) Most importantly is that your doctor has the medical requirement to treat you when you have issues, regardless of the cause. I get all my PCT from my physician, with him knowing full well why I need them and my insurance covers the Rx fills. If he/she knows why your levels are what they are, they can help you get them back to where they need to be.

4) Someone already touched on this.. Doctor-Patient Confidentiality is above the law, not even a subpoena can be issued to break it unless the defendant wants his/her doctor to testify.

It always feels "weird" to tell them, but they've heard it before. It's the same as telling your Dr you any other drug, no big deal to them. Plus I'd rather take US pharmacy PCT and not pay for it.
