Do You Like Wolves? Interesting Gift Idea

Okay, the deal is, you donate to adopt either a wolf or an entire family of wolves, depending on how much you can afford (and you can also give this to someone). You can adopt one wolf for $25, a pack for $65 or a family for $100. You get a certificate and stuffed wolves.

For all of you who want to point out that humans need help, first. Hey, IMO, humans aren't in any danger of extinction any time soon, but the other fact is there's plenty of people who can't stand their own species. This gives the antisocial bastards an opportunity to do something they can feel good about.

beautiful animals

a good gift idea for that person who has everything and is an animal lover

It'd be funny if one of those people donating got eaten by a wolf while hiking or something some day.

Coyotes (sp) are freaking all over the place here.....which are not the same I know....but you have to lock up your little fu fu dogs so they are not lunch

I will give you 10,000K right now, if you can provide me with a legitimate article/incident report/story (meaning, not something in the Globe or National Enquirer) of a wolf killing a human being in the past few years.

Cougar, yes, any of the big cats, I won't argue, bears, certainly, dingos even. But as far as I know there ARE no cases in recent history (past 50 to 100 years or so) of wild timber or grey wolves killing a human being in North America (excluding sick/rabid animals that aren't right in their head, pet ones that idiots keep. Just some dork walking through the woods and a wolf pack jumps him, that's what I'm talking about).

Wolves do kill livestock. They wouldn't do that if their natural prey wasn't cleared to make room for the livestock. What else are they supposed to eat?

Humans have as much right to be the top predator in a given environment as wolves. The first thing wolves do when they enter an area is eliminate competition. That is the same thing humans do when they eliminate wolves from areas where livestock are raised.
The reason wolves don't prey on humans is because they don't generally live in close proximity.
I have nothing against wolves at all but I also have no problem with humans eliminating a hazard to their economic well-being.

This would be a perfect gift for someone who has everything. kinda like naming a star.

thats the reason why we have species almost extinct and species that are already gone from the face of this planet. Every form of life has its purpose to be here and that is to keep the balance. We, humans, are the worst that could happen to planet Earth.

i would adopt one if i could keep it as a pet.
my friend had a pup...they require alot of attention and cannot be left alone for a minute. he also dug up the backyard. it looked like a mine field. when he would howl- it was the most awesome thing!!!...you could hear him for miles.

awesome creature. Do you know that besides howling and growling they do bark also?

wolves bark when nervous or to warn other wolves of danger.

That was a shitty, shitty thing to say.

Your repeatedly nasty comments on this thread have been utterly useless (case in point, the exemplar comment above) and nothing you said on this thread has been postive or appreciated.

If you don't like the animals then don't comment on a thread that's entitled "Do You Like Wolves?" Who asked your opinion? This was not an opinion poll, this was purely an interesting gift idea for the hard to buy for animal lover.

Jerk.
