yes, I like it when people call me sir. I think it shows respect, especially when they are younger than I am or if they are serving me in some manner (waiter, etc.).
It bothers me these days when all too often I see younger generations with close to complete lack of respect for their elders. Calling elderly people "old man" or "old lady" (or worse), calling someone 20 years their senior "buddy" "sport" "pal" or some other sort of bullshit. I'm not your "buddy"...you are someone who is taking my order and serving me my food. I don't know you and you're a 16 yr old pimply faced kid. You're not being cool you're simply being rude. Here is your tip...next time learn some manners.
