Do you know anyone else who posts on chat board regularly like this?

How many of you know of other people in your 'offline' lives who posts on a chat board like this, on a regular basis, enough to have developed a 'personality' on another board?

I never realized how popular chat board communities had become until I saw HappyScrappy's thread,All about you flamers, about the different types of flamers on chat boards. Personally, I think it's a little eerie to think that other boards have their own versions of HappyScrappys, WODINs, KAYNEs, dballers, ryanhs, Smalls, HIs, Cornholes, etc, lol.


I'll answer first, I don't know anyone else who posts on chat boards on a regular basis.

one of my friends posts on an "all lawyer" board. that place is probably tons of fun. he also posts on a board that is all track talk. both he and I both post on a saab board.

other than that, the only people I know that are into boards are people that read boards about cars.

people that read boards are losers. fucking losers.

also, there are newsgroups which have a similar feel but usually a slower post rate and the UI is determined by your newsreader and not a web page.
 
if I could find a board where it is all about people that enjoy crapping their pants, then I'm all over it.
and not some sicko "scat" site - just good, wholesome, pants crapping.

That is not me.. for I shave my body and I am not that big.

I guess the description does fit me though.

same here. so instead, if I want to relate something that happened, I just tell my friends that I was having a tea party with my stuffed animals and the most amazing thing happened to mr. quackers (the duck of course), yet mrs bun-bun would have NONE of it!

that way it is less embarrassing than admitting I'm a chat board loser.
 
I am the same.. people call me DBaller. I run around picking fights and starting race wars.. I also go out and attack gays and non-christians.

LOL! I do too. I just try to give the apperance that I am so likeable and easy to talk to that strangers I meet everywhere enjoy sharing these insane stories about the most inane events with me. You don't think they suspect.....? :worried:

Are you kidding? My office is full of people posting on chat boards 8 hours a day. We're all pros at it! I can look around me right now and see people on five different boards. There's one on a WWF board, a cat lovers board, a sex chat board...

I work for an online retailer. All we do is post on chat boards (unless of course the boss is around)

There is no way in hell I'd ever tell anyone I post here. Or that I chat on AIM or whatever.

It's not that I really care what they think, I just don't need the hassle. People look at you funny when you tell them you talk to people online....try it sometime, you'll see what I mean.

oh, i still want to beat all of their faces in with golf clubs. that never changed. i just post the same kind of things there that i do here. the chain smoking, greasy haired, vegan, bi-sexual, over-emotional, brainwashed liberals who try too hard to ne 'different', dont really take kindly to me :)

yeah, one of the girls who is a member of my friend's site and who will soon be on one of those fucked 'porn' sites, emailed me like 40 naked pics...all i wanted to do was stick red hot pokers in my eyes and set my computer on fire.

Likewise. I barely mention EF. You tend to get lots of funny looks. The ironic thing is that I don't consider myself a big online type of person. I got this job where I basically sit in front of a computer all day with no limitations on what I do, and I needed something to kill the time. I was researching AAS at the time so naturally I got about a gazillion hits off Lycos that linked me to EF Anabolic. Somehow, I ended up over here at chat- the whole terminology: "thread", "post", "flame", "newbie", "LOL", "LMAO", "IMHO", "smiley", etc.- I had never heard of. I didn't even know discussion boards existed. I knew about chat rooms a little, but that's about it. That was this time last year. Now I'm up over 5,000 posts. Go figure. :D

I've posted, and have had buddies that post at, a couple sites - Mountainbiking and Snowboarding. But they have been way more specific, and only offered one board, so there was no 'general chat' board. The chat board makes it way better, lots more humour.

But in general I dont talk to others about my posting activities.

i remember seeing you make posts about modest mouse. i was shocked you dig that kind of music. check out sleep station. my friend from high school, his older brother is the lead singer. they are also listed by coca-cola as one of the top 50 unsigned bands in america.
 
I really like Modest Mouse.. but right now I am really into this band called Turkish Taffy. They are unsigned. You can get some of it on mp3.com

yeah, www.loudpopradio.com is the link.. I think I messed it up a minute ago. We have all kinds of new and old indie rock on there. (I do not like emo.. so I still call it indie rock)

you should really talk with the owners at asd. maybe they could throw up some banners or something? they are all about smaller labels. they have eyeball, eulogy, hellbent, and some other labels advertising on there as well.
 
That could be an idea.. maybe do some kind of ad campaign on the radio station or a commercial of some kind? That could work out good for both sites.

I joined asd. is it like this board? I mean are there some flames? Will I get thrown off right away if I act like myself? Should I act like one of those bruised heroin people?? ;)
 
just make a thread detailing the loudpop.com site. people would totally be into that kind of thing.
