Do You Find It Unconfortable to Compliment Another Guy Bodybuilder?

I sorta of do. I mean I see some dudes with huge arms and you can tell he has been on the routine for a while and has done some awesome work. And you would like to tell them but so many fags use that line, " wow do you workout?" And I don't want to ever look like a fag but I would like to compliment the dudes work. So I usually say nice work on you guns dude kind of non challantly(sp) as I can.

But anyway I was wondering if any other dudes have a hard time complimenting some other bros work?

no

but i dont compliment as the first thing i say, thats where you start to wonder if someone is using it as a line. if the first thing they say is something cheesy like "nice arms" or "how long have you been working out?" then it can come off as a pickup line. if you are just cool about it or already know the guy then its taken as it is meant, a compliment.

I have no problem with issuing a compliment, it usually starts out as something like "I need to know how you got those traps." Sort of like, hey you succeeded at something, tell me how I can succeed too!

well, when you do it i really suggest doing a few things first. You will definately have to compliment him in the locker room, but before you can do this, you have to dye your pubic hair pink and take 2 viagras. After you do this walk up to him naked and tell him what you think of his 'awesome bod'

not really, i mean i u start to see who is a consistent lifter in your gym and respect each other, and know each other, and if a person tells u you are getting bigger or soemthing like that it just serves as motivatoin for me, progress=motivation.

i am flattered and pleased when another person at the gym comments favorably on my muscle development. favorable comments make me want to lifter heavier and harder. praise equals added incentive! we all want and desire praise for our hard work!

anyone who is uneasy about giving or receiving sincere muscular development compliments had serious issues with his own sexuality.

Props!

Nope, if someone has a great physique or superior development in certain body parts there's nothing wrong with giving the guy his props. However, strength-power-explosiveness are the things that impress me. Those that do not fear heavy weight. Those that attempt to lift more than may be possible. These are the people who are not afraid to fail. True failure is in those who never dare to try. Props to every strength athlete out there that has placed himself or herself under a weight knowing that the chances are, it ain't coming back up!

I don't think it's "Gay" to compliment a man on the hard work he's done. People often ask me "do you lift" I say "yes" they say "you look good" I say "thank you" I don't think they are coming on to me.

I think we should all compliment each other in a way that makes us look better...

:)

"Hey, dude... great arms... (Flexes) ...but look at these babies."

I never find it uncomfortable to compliment another girl, but the sometimes take it as jealousy. (I am a chick.) I mostly don't comment to the guys, cuz they usually take it as a come on, so I try to ignore the guys there. I can't even get a spot without men thinking I want them. Don't really understand this, cuz I have been asked by men to spot them and thought that they just needed a spot, not a conversation. Why is this sometimes vice versa?

I would not have a problem with a female complimenting me (male). I would not take it as a come on... Nobody likes me anyway, but respect for hard work is still respect for hard work.

I have this same problem. But I learned to say stuff that actually works like if someone's dumbell pressing or seated db rowing, I say, "Damn, what happens when you want to move up?" meaning damn these 180lb dumbells are not enough. Or I start off by saying "Shit, are you a powerlifter or something?" I also say stuff like, "I feel bad for your XXL shirt" like when their arms are busting out. As you can see I compliment these guys a lot. No one thinks of it as gay when I do it.:D

what kinda guys complement you??
to make you think like dat?

Hey listen I have no question about my sexuality. I dig women almost too much. But I have seen on movies or heard from other body builders that homos come on to them by using such line "as wow do you work out?" and crap like that.

And like I said I still do compliment dudes and I like it myself when I get complimented.

Well, unless you're a newbie, you can almost always know who trains hard and who doesn't. If someone has crazy arms, atleast for someone's arms to catch your eye, they obviously have done some type of training, unless its construction work or something. That's why I see it as a dumb question to ask "do you work out" and it sounds more like a pick up line. And if you ask someone that in the gym, you sound like a dumb ass because they are working out at the moment obviously.:D

the best is when they ask you what roids are you on, when you are natural. Real ego boost :D

Someone actually asked me that about 2 weeks ago, and he was serious. Over Christmas break I gained 12 good pounds. He thought I was on, and he wouldn't believe me when I said nothing. It was the best compliment I ever got. I've been waiting for someone to compliment me like that, especially when you're all natural. You feel like the training has finally paid
off.:D

Sounds like Don Juanism. Yeaahhh, gay, definitely gay (think Raymond's voice) :spin:
