Do you (do) dip(s)?

In my series of threads about nice exercises, we have now come to dips.
Do you do them? I lvoe them, both for chest and triceps. I am currently doing it as my main chest exercise on one of my training days. I go as deep as i can, and i also rest pause it.

WHat about you?

Here is video of how my set typically looks like:

good job,....the key is to keep body as upright as possible(which you do) and to focus on flexing hard at the top.....the upper 2/3 is most effective ROM for tris

Nice. Good work dude.

I sometimes put them in a chest or tricep workout. Depends if I have a lot of weight on the squat/dip rack, I'm too lazy to strip the weights off. lol

Keep it up!

Elbows back and torso upright... tris

Elbows out wide and torso forward.... chest

We'll probably replace our flat dumbell presses with dips eventually. My wife said she used to do bodyweight dips in the past so may not be a bad idea once our strength starts to go up.

I have lagging triceps, so i love doing dips as a chest exercise since i will get some extra triceps work then too.

I used to be able to dip up to 9 reps on my third set with a 45# plate strapped on would end that set doing a drop set, dropping the plate then going to failure. Dont do that anymore as I am not into size so much. Would definitely clear out that corner of the gym as I am so small. Lotta dude's cocks shriveled LMAO!!!

One comment - Stig darlin, you are locking out your elbows at the top of the movement. Not good... Other than that your form is very good. :)

BMom - yeah, i know alot dont like the lockout. But to me the movment doesnt feel complete untill i lock my elbows. But i take your point. I never lock my knees in exercises like legpress for instance.

Medical - hm? i finish every Rest pause with a negative in that movie. You mean you would stand up, then do another negative?

I would lock out, break the lock by about an inch, then hold it (trying to press back up as soon as failure started) until I was at full bottom. In my opinion a true full negative is one of the advantages to dips and push-ups.

I wish I could, but a partially torn RC makes them a no-no

same here, got a bad shoulder/labrum
cant do them very well but my new gym has a machine that works good and doesnt bother my shoulder as much

Shoulder issues so I don't stay upright. If I lean forward a good bit my shoulder feels pretty good when doing them. I had been working towards my goal of doing a 3 plated dip but that has been on hold do to a back injury.

I start getting joint pains fast when I do a lot of dips.

I've stopped doing them for a while and havent noticed a difference.

i don't do em.

i can, easily, but they hurt my shoulder.

joint pains? aren't you like 16? wth?

when you're not a wuss-ass and you do them with a shit-ton of weight on then your wrists start to take a beating.

I'm 22, bitch.
