Do you carry around a packpack?

I noticed this today...are the people who carry around backpacks either:

a)the adventurous urban outdoorsie type

b)psuedo intellects that try to pass as smart because they carry around their books where ever they go, so they seem more productive than they actually are. You're not fooling anyone.

c)girls who choose not to date guys.

d)guy's who discovered the novelty of a back purse when they realized they could carry more than just school work in it.

I'm just dying to figure out what type of people carry around backpacks and why....that's all!

I used to carry a alptop bag with me to work and because I sued a laptop a lot for both. I then became kind of dependednt on it to carry around al lsorts of crap like aspirin, cafeine pills, mp3 palyer, cd's, books, etc... kind of like a purse. The laptop bag turned into a laptop backpack 'cause that shit would tire the fuck out of my shoulder. At some point I stopped needing my latptop as much, so I stopepd carrying it around btu I still had a need for the back pack. I now have one of those sling back packs, but I only carry it to work and school. No laptop in there, but there are books for classes and all that pther crap I mentioned above.

I carry a backpack when I travel to put things in that I don't want in my check luggage. Back when I was in college I carried it to some of my geology classes to carry all the shit I needed for class. All my other classes neccessitated only a notebook so the bp stayed in the room.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Everyday. Everywhere. Leave it in my car except at work or the gym. Have my meds, workout clothes, food, headphones, and anything else I need.

Use mine for all my classes and the gym. I goto several classes in groups, so I need a bag to carry multiple books. It's pretty much empty when I bring to the gym. Just has my workout log notebook, mp3 player, keys, money clip, protein shake, six-pack, bowl, etc...

I carry a whole load of crap.

laptop, novel, mp3, drawing stuff, cd pack of games, camera and small tripod. small tool case.

Nerdy nerd here.

I carry a laptop backpack case.. Try it if you carry a laptop daily or intermittantly.
When I hike/Geocache I also carry a daypack backpack.

Less Geeky looking more adventurous urban outdoorsie in your words(which I am)

Tons easier to carry over one shoulder for short trips from truck to bldg or full on your back for longer walks. Way more comfortable than that single shoulder strap.

Lots of pockets for stuff you need all in one bag, Phone, PDA, cables, DVDs, IPOD, Electronic stuff etc.

Easier when you travel such as Airports etc at security. You have it all with you and nothing crammed in your pockets.

Easier to take the Laptop out and put it back in vs those briefcase style ones.

look at the title of your thread. u called it a packpack... lol...

packpack...

remember the pac man cartoon? good times

Lumberg carries his backpack everywhere every weekday as well. He carries more stuff in his backpack than I keep in my purse.

Does he carry his IUD in there so he always has it "just in case" ?

Yeah, but backpacks are supposed to be bigger than your head.

Yes, everyday - it's red a black.

Water, snack
Camera, pencils, graph paper
mini measuring tape
hand creme
Ipod
vitamins/drugs

I've had my backback since I was in grade 7. I'm now second year of university. This bag of mine has endured much. Protein shake spills, puke (but only the the two front compartments), it has held fire, water, weed, mold, mountains, you name it.

backpack when biking on long trip with no one around or school only

Whiskey

I traded in my brief case for a back pack.

A ton more functional. I can use the thing to carry my laptop and phone and clean it out for vacation stuff.

Greatness!!
