Look at it this way. What about if the person you are seing right now is compatable for you at this point in time, but you are convinced that there is still someone out there that is your 'soul mate'. You might spend the rest of your life looking for that someone that doesn't exist. I gues it works both ways.
You are right in alot of ways, and that is why marriage so often ends in divorce. People keep developing and changing. Soulmate or no soulmate, people can't help but change. You are a human being before you are a mother, wife or sister and that is just human nature.
