Do you americans know

I made a post about this yesterday, but it didn't take off. The drugs found in the athletes are not on the banned list so why did they lose their medals?

I'VE HEARD MORE ABOUT THE RUSSIANS THAN ANYONE ELSE.

KINDA OFF TOPIC BUT LANCE ARMSTRONG HAS/HAD CANCER. OTHER COUNTRIES ARE SAYING HE IS ON STEROIDS CUZ OF HIS MEDICINE. FUCKING LOSERS........CANT TAKE THE FACT THAT HE WON AGAIN.

WHY ARE YOU STEREOTYPING AMERICANS??? HOW MANY FUCKING MEDALS DID USA WIN AND HOW MANY DID YOUR COUNTRY WIN. IF YOURE NOT FROM GERMANY, I WOULDNT BE TALKING SHIT. THEY ARE THE ONLY COUNTRY WHO WON MORE THAN US (I THINK.....DIDNT SEE FINAL RESULTS YET).

Canadian snowboarder Ross Rebagliati's gold medal was withdrawn when he tested positive for the drug last week. His medal was reinstated when an arbitration panel said the IOC had failed to follow its own rules governing drug tests. Because of the panel's ruling, no action is planned against others who test positive for marijuana.

Rebagliati claimed the positive finding was a result of second-hand smoke and that he had not used marijuana since last April.

ROFLMFAO.........Ya right........since last April huh? Secondhand smoke? So you were just at the party right next to the people smoking some herb, but you did not partake in it?

Dude that was in 1998.
And at first he refused to give back the medal.
I dont know how this would enhance his performance though. He would probably cruise down the hill right to the buffet table.

Speaking of weed and the olympics why is it not ok for the atlhetes to smoke bud but its ok for the officials to be a bunch of lushes?

To me the officials shouls be held to the same "high " standards.

Something has happened to the olympics over the years. It has become less wordly and more americanized. I don't kinow about anyone else but I have definitely lost interest in the games, well, except swimming, powerlifting, and track and field. There is too much controversy. Anyone hear about the situation with Apollo Ono?

THEY WERE AMERICANIZED CUZ THEY WERE IN AMERICA THIS YEAR. LAST TIME THEY WERE JAPANESED. THE TIME BEFORE THAT THEY WERE FRENCH. GET THE POINT!!!

APOLLO WAS ROBBED OF HIS GOLD BY THAT LITTLE PRICK WHO KNOCKED HIM DOWN ALLOWING THE FUCKING GUY IN LAST PLACE TO WIN THE RACE. HE WON THE HEAT BEFORE THAT ALSO BY BEING THE ONLY ONE STANDING. HE SHOULD BE MAN ENOUGH TO ADMIT HE WOULDNT EVEN HAD MADE THE FINALS BECAUSE HE WAS SO FUCKING SLOW. THE ONLY REASON HE WON WAS BECAUSE OTHERS FELL. AND IT WASNT APOLLO'S FAULT HE FELL AND HE STILL WASNT AWARDED THE GOLD.

That "LITTLE PRICK," did you mean the gentleman from South Korea?
I think I got the point. Apollo was awarded the gold in his last race. From what I know of speed skating...it is a pretty aggressive and competitive sport. So someone gets knocked down, I am SURE it has happened before.
You are so angry about nothing. Ohno got the gold, didn't he?
And from what I have see in past Olympics, they were not Frenchized, or Japanized as you so refer them to be.
The americans were not robbed. Get your facts straight.

he couldn't compete at this year's olympics because the US border wouldn't let him through... a result of the drug admission at the last olympics... LMAO.

yeah i heard about the drug scandal on the news here... apparently the drug the skiers took was assumed to be safe from tests... they thought wrong. i guess the drug gets more oxygen into the blood... the x-country skiers i mean.

Whoa there Mr.Internet tough guy, come down. You were both talking about the same thing. What happened there was unfortunate but it is far from uncommon, speed skaters fall ALL the time, races are lost and won through atheletes falling in this discipline ALL the time. Apollo knows this and accepts it, so should we.

Now have the games becomed more Americanized? Yes they have, but only because they country with the most money and infuence is the US and they have, well, the most influence. Consider this, the olimpics have been since the beginning of time an even strictly for the amateur atheletes. No professionals were allowed to compete in the games, but since the US had a shortage of amateur Atheletes willing to put in all the work required and get paid next to nothing and live in sport camps instead of houses they, the US, forced fundamental changes in how these games are played. And this fundamental change was to allow Professionals to compete, case and point? The Dream Team. Also the US can push harder for new sports to be added, sports for which they already have athelets lined up to take the gold, silver and bronze, hence the higher medal total and controversy.

Now about doping, it's really funny how we do not hear the US atheletes testing positive for anything. It's always the Other countries that have this problem. Do you mean to tell me that the US atheletes are 100% clean and the foreign atheletes need to use drugs to compete with the Americans? No ofcourse not, but the testing seems skewed, so more controversy. But you will not hear about it in the American Media. Just like you will not hear how Lance Armstrong wins all the Tour DeFrance races when he underwent treatment for testicular cancer, You know what that gives him? A free ticked to use Testosterone injections, cause surely everyone knows his testicles were removed. So how come there is not even any questions being asked about his doping? Why is he allowed to test positive? Why is he suddenly winning races he basically sucked at before?

it's issues like that, that make games of any kind sour with resentment. I am not taking sides, but sometimes the US media presents itself and it's deciples to be holy, with the bad guys always being somewhere alse and not in the US.
