True story, I used to work next to a restaurant and the owner son/manager was a real babe, face, hair body - a yummy package. I had a crush on him for years and he was always taken by his "girlfriend of little value" (yah us girls are vicious). Anytime I had the chance I causally touch those bowling ball shoulders (girls and I dined/ drank there often). Finally were both single at the same time and I snagged that boy up in a second and you know what, I've seen knot free pine wood with more character, talking about anything was horribly painful and the only time he was fun to be around was at the gym.

I see him about town every once and a while, he back with his old girlfriend and he's still got a hot body but no boats are floated.

seeing as i go for women mainly (and men sometimes)...might as well my penny's worth. with a chick if i find her hot, its mainly based on her body, great ass etc. and yeah id not wait for the first date (obviously down to her too tho), then if shes got a crap personality id not bother again. with a bloke, i prefer them to be either really slim and toned or musclur to a certain degree..but not huge (sorry). might be just a complex though, dunno if id want to be with someone bigger than me! but id also want to get some form of mental connection going on - weird and unfair, innit!?

I would say that it's a factor among many others. It's certainly what you notice first though. I've yet to see someone from across the room and think "wow, I bet they can make he laugh". i know i aint a chick, but i have a few pennies a'jinglin. i have seen so many guys that get the nicest women because they have a great personality. i think for the majority of women personality and stability is #1, depending on age of said female. 20 yr old girls might want looks and a nice car, because they want to impress friends and dont give a shit what he is thinking because they dont shut up anyway. after college, the nice man who is intelligent and takes care of himself will have a hard time fending the women off. i think that turned into 3 cents. looks only get men so far. women can make up for personality or facial deficits with a hot body, i would bet.
