Do U Guys Think The Earth Is Changing

Meantime1

Do you guys think the earth is changing, with everything happening right now
it does sometimes make me wonder that in our life time, we will experience sometime really
drastic weather changes, and climate condiitons, some parts of the world right now, you cant even go out then the sun is out, and with technology and all, we might experience an I - Robot experience
What are you guys thought, with what is happening with our world right now
It's a bit concerning

GO to Glacier NAtional PArk...and look at the progression of signs that have marked the outer boundry of one of the glaciers....used to be AT the road....now is a 1/4 mile away

The world is always changing. What's your point? It started out as a big molten ball in space. Cool hey?

In about 10 billion years it'll be gone after the sun goes supernova.

Gawd, your avi is a turn on. Teddy bears in chains and leather. I'm taking him to IML.

Climate and weather have been going through natural changes for, what, 6 billion years? Ain't gonna stop now bor.

As for technology, a buddy of mine says in a decade robots will have the intelligence equivalent to that of an insect. In 50 years — humans.

I hope so, just so assholes like Rush Limbaugh will have to eat his words. But, then he'll just make up an excuse.

exactly, this is typical changes in the earths climate, the cavemen didnt have good record keeping or we could of had a better weather history so that everyone could see this and not think this is something new

Yeah Guys but with all the weather changes and all
we as a society or even the world ready for it

I know the US has had his fair share of weather disasters
and look at the damaged that did and the lives it claimed

Yes, the Earth is constantly changing. The weather on the Earth is cyclical. Currently the glaciers are melting at an accelerating rate and the planet is warming up. It is a self-feeding process that is underway like a runaway train. Eventually the climate will reach a point where the atmosphere is oversaturated with liquid water, this will force the climate to change and start the next ice age. The Gulf Stream may be instrumental in this, as the planet warms the stream becomes weaker; the stream failing completely is the most likely trigger that forces the ice age. The mechanics of this aren't fully understood yet, but science has shown that this is the pattern, it's happened dozens of times before and it is happening now.

It might be thousands of years away though, I feel pretty safe that we won't see it in our lifetime.

earth is always changing, nothing we cna do about. global warming speeds up that changing. ever since earth has been around its temp has not been constant, it fluctuates hence the ice ages. there are hot times too.

Sure it's changing, the earth has always been in a state of change. As humans, we seem to take ourselves too seriously when it comes to our ability to control our environment. Can we really "save" the earth? I don't think so. We can destroy ourselves with war, pollution, etc, etc, but the earth will be here with or without us. If global warming is the future, then perhaps we can slightly slow it down, but in the end we are powerless to change our climate. We seem to forget that we are at the mercy of mother nature just like any other creature.

Im damn convinced, its been around 5-10degrees C for the past week and Im in canada for christ sake, usually this time of year we have a high of like -5 with a huge wind chill and loads of snow, I can still see my grass

We're only 10,000 years out from the last Ice Age, some warming is still normal.

You will always see localized changes, that, on our lifetime scale can seem catastrophic e.g. all the hurricanes the US experienced last fall, but on the bigger time scale, these probably just average out on the cycles that they run on. Even w/ the wild changes we induce with our industry, etc. if the planet is irritated by it, it will just wipe us out w/ some sort of armageddon and a new life form will start growing somewhere else. We are pretty insignificant in the big picture, but its such a perfectly fine-tuned machine, its beautiful!

I don't know why everyone is reiterating the fact that the Earth is always changing. We know this. On a whole, it's always warping itself in some way. Erosion due to wind and water come to mind, as well as tectonic plates shifting.

However, the green-house effect is destroying our planet, along with all the chemicals and pollutants our modern-day society unleashed unto the Earth. We've already fucked ourselves, so I'm not going to get all "Green Peace" about fixing shit up - we lost that chance. The best we can do now is slow down the process and milk as much out of the planet as we can.

Oh, due to the global warming by the by, the ocean is getting progressively warmer in certain places each year, which is what's causing all those hurricanes that we got battered by. Well, we as in Florida here in the states.

Oh please, compared to natural forces, man's ability to affect the planet and its climate is miniscule. Like pissing in Niagara Falls.

The "greenhouse effect" is total BS. Even the supports of Kyoto just came out and said the same. "GReenies". I was reading an article on this once and it referenced a Volcanic eruption that happened I believe it was around 100 yrs ago. The amount of CO2 put intot the air in those few days of it erupting was something like 3-4 x's the amount humnans have EVER put into the air. These little burps by Mount St Helens these past few months have put more CO2 into the air that the entire US has in the last 10 yrs. Humans are not causing global warming. It's just a natural cycle.
