If you can handle 15iu it means your insulin sensitivity sucks and you are diabetic…

You want to reduce your insulin requirements... not necessarily your insulin levels.

The more insulin you take, the more you lower insulin sensitivity and the more insulin you need to do the same job. [drive nutrients into muscle cells]

If you want to maximize muscle growth with insulin learn how to increase insulin sensitivity. Ketogenic diets, magnesium, chromium, omega-3’s, slow release proteins and weight training all increase insulin sensitivity... not taking more insulin.

I use 12 iu. but I belive this is a very touchy subject. too much = dead

You could theoretical eventually get the same benefit from 6iu if you modified your macronutrient intake and made efforts to increase insulin sensitivity.

High circulating insulin levels just isn’t healthy… if you can reduce your requirements you are making a smart move.

If your going to use slin, I recommend Humilin R. You shouldnt use it more than 3 days weekly and for no longer than 6 weeks. Take 4-6 weeks off to let the body rest. When taking it, depending on what time of the day you train, you want to take it 3x that day. Ideally, you would take it immediately after training and then with the next 2 meals after that. Depending on your weight, lets say you are 250lbs, go on the lower side to see how the body reacts. 4iu on the first one, 8iu post-training, and 4iu last meal..

Now this is very important, for every iu of slin administired you need to bring in 10grams of simple carbs. With the 4iu you would then bring in minimum of 40 grams of high glycemic carbs(white rice, waxy maize, etc) and of course your protein as well. You can always overshoot just a bit to be on the safe side. I also recommend buying a glucose meter, just to make sure the blood levels are normal.. MORE IS NOT BETTER. Slin is a very effective tool, but needs to be used with respect..

I've experimented with it just a little. The trouble is, I'm already very insulin sensitive. When I first tried it I had just come off a long keto diet and was only a few days back on carbs. 1IU with 40 grams of carbs/protein made me feel light headed. I was using humalog and only once per day after workout. After using it a couple times 2IU didn't feel bad and the highest I ever went was 3IU- again made me feel dizzy and I couldn't focus for awhile, not a fun feeling.

I've wondered if less is better as well. I mean, for a guy like me, am I going to get more bad effects (i.e. fatter) using the max I can handle instead of 1-2IU? I will say that I noticed much more fat gain over that period of time using than when I didn't, but I could have been taking in too many carbs and calories at some point as well as I pushed the envelop on that for myself during that time going up to 2 shakes with 60-70 grams of carbs, 75 grams of protein spaced 1.5 hrs apart.

I prefer 4-6 iu postworkout and upon waking
anymore and sides tend to occur unless you cover it with a shitload of carbs

PP dropping the knowledge. Love to see it.

Still no need for it unless you are going pro. To much risk and yes side effects.

No Mr. Olympia prior to Yates used it, yet guys who couldn't place in a Mr. Weehawkin County contest feel the need to risk their health and use it. I don't get that.
