do u guys believe if ur lifting the same weight every week u will not grow?

if ur adding weight to the bar every week do u believe u will grow as long as u training for size i.e 6-8 reps for compounds movements, and resting and eating?

more stress on muscle = more growth right?

peace

I push myself every week on every bodypart. I may not lift as heavy week to week but I push myself as hard as I feel comfortable everytime I go in. I only do one rep max maybe once a month or less. But I do get down to a 3 rep max quite often. Some weeks I may do alot more reps and other weeks I go super heavy, but I make it count each time.

Yes.

I always try to add more weight to the bar or more reps with the same weight. I an super anal when it comes to beating the log book.

Yes.

Every week I add more to the bar than the week before even if it is just a couple of pounds. I rarely if ever go for a 1RM, but instead compute it off a 3RM.

But in a way this is a flaw for me. Say for example, I add 10 lbs to my DL for my final set and then some a-hole decides to turn on the floor magnets and I can't pull it, I get it in my head that I just had (and am) a failure & since I didn't progress the whole workout was a waste. That thinking totally flies in face of logic, I know, but it is how my mind works sometimes.

But like I said I do believe in progressive overload. Along with a lot of other training techniques.

even if u stick to a few exercise that work for u and , keep adding more rep and more wieght, how can u not grow if u eating and resting? logically muscle adpats to the amount of stresss u put on it. right?

Put it this way. If you add weight to your squats, deads, rows, bench and military throughout a week then you are growing. Doesnt matter if your diong 12 or 5 reps. Personally I keep everthing exept cable crossovers, abs and calves in the 5-8 rep range. However, if your not fuelling your body and/or resting your body then you will not add weight to those lifts and in turn you will not grow.
