my instructor called me today and told me that i was enrolled into a MMA tournament in November, i am cuurently in wk 2 using cyp/prop/eq/fina/arimidex and in 2 wks i will drop the prop and start winny it will be a 10wk cycle...can someone tell me if i need to drop out of the tournament? Or if i will be alright...i also have 120 tabs of 10mg halo's so hey i may use em for the fights if they dont test

god no!!!

They would lose 90% of the entrants.

There was talk of Pride starting to test but nothing happened about it.

Plus none of the small to medium MMA tournies make enough $$ to really give a shit or to spend any of it on testing.

BTW which one?

I used to fight a bit myself but am getting too old for that shit. I care now when someone hits me in the face :(

and what do you train?

I used to train under Reylson Gracie, Cohnan (and his better brother) Silvera, and Edson Diniz.

but now rolling is what I do at the dance clubs :)

though I still train a bit.

Which organization? I've done legal work for a few of them. Anyway, basically no, you have almost no chance of being tested. :magilicut

i honestly dont know he just called my cell today and said i entered you into a tournament its in November in another state(trying not to provide too many clues)i will find out more tomorrow when i go to class

hopefully i will be the one doing the beating, i am going to bring a camcorder to record it though

yeah, post it up here when you get it on tape.

Oh shit, I don't wanna be the one to put a damper on things but the UFC does test for steroids in Nevada. It has to do with the nevada athletic commision. I don't think they tested for the last king of the cage in Reno though. I'll have to ask one of our guys who fought there...california you will be ok whether it is the ICF amatuer, pro, KOTC etc....You must be on the November 17th card?

thanks to all who replied, i train today so i will try to get as much info from my instructor so i can maybe check the website for rules and regulations

josh barnett won the ufc heavy-weight title from randy couture but had to give it up after testing positive.
when did they start testing?:mix:

unless you are fighting pro you don't have anything to worry about. And if you are fightiing pro the majority of tournements still dont' test. It cost about
250$ for testing. Is this your first tournement? Are you pro or ametuer? I didn't hear that new about josh barnette - that's crazy. I wonder what is going to happen when ken shamrock fights tito ortiz - shamrock loves the juice - I can't see him fighting without it.

I am far from pro, and i figured they wont test due to costs but i just wanted to double check

Hit me with an email and let me know when/where you are fighting or for which santioning body...i fight for Straight Blast Gym and could probably dig up some info from some of randy's guys if need be. I've also got some buddies from one of the gracie schools that have fought in tested fights so they may be able to help as well...

LM - are you doing pancration rules? Training for tournements is the best way to get good quick - cardio is key - good luck bro.

i run 30mins 3 times a wk in the a.m but when i get in the ring after three 3 min rounds i am weezing like a mofo...thinking to myself...wtf? i run for 30mins why cant i do just 3 rounds without feeling like i am having a asthma attack, another fighter there says that his jump rope is his best freind and thats how he makes it thru the bout

When i was competing -I would jump rope for about 10 minutes for a warm up then stretch. I did a lot of bag work - in 3 minute intervals with a minute rest. I would isolate jab, crosses, kicks ect and try to about 6 rounds. Then work on technique and strategy. Followed by stand up fighting and isolation. Then grappling - i would grapple everyone in the class one after another. At the end of class I would crawl out of the gym and do it all over the next day. The only real way to get your fighting endurance is to do a lot of sparring and grappling. Let us know how you make - good luck.

I train sport - brazilian jiu jitsu.

I know that lots of guys in the sport use and they never test at sport bjj tournaments.

I heard Vegas is cracking down on it though, so you never know...
