seriously? you trail run with a vest then randomly drop and do burps throughout the run? that's sick.

Possible Mr. Plunk insult in 3....2....

I live in rural Pennsylvania.
I run trails (for real)
I do 2-3 mud runs a year (bfd)

Trail running is a completely different monster.
You might wear a weighted vest and drop and do whatever running on a track or somewhere in suburbia.
When you are trail running it's all about foot placement. 1 wrong move and it's a high ankle sprain. As a matter of fact I even stopped running downhill because the risk of injury is just too much.
I only run up hill and on the relatively flat parts.
Between the loose rocks and constantly changing /weathered trails, you're asking for trouble trying to add in unnecessary shit.

LOL @ Gatemoney

There's hundreds of miles trails out here Gate. Canyon trails,Wooded trails with Rattle snakes and 100+ degree weather.
California isn't all Hollywood like it looks on ol T.V. box

My shits got rocks son!
I was gonna go take some pics of the one behind my house but it's 150 fucking degrees and I'm not going out there!
There is a hill with at least a 12 percent grade about a quarter of a mile long right in the middle of this particular run.
I have yet to make it up that hill without stopping, it's brutal.

pfft...my yard is a steeper grade than 12%

I don't trail run anymore because of my hips...I brutalized em doing it daily
I still snow shoe tho...thinking about cross crountry skiing this winter as well ...lotta good trails for it here
if we actually get snow :(

:pats kitchen table: bitch, I will show you how to brutalize some hips.

after seeing the video of that 74 black woman who gets up everyday at 3am to run 10 miles, "every" day, i'm not going to question a 50 year old who looks like SD does. When i see what some of the 60 year olds are doing at the crossfit games it puts things in perspective. People ain't like they used to be.

Ernestine Shepherd, World's Oldest Female Bodybuilder, Muscles Her Way Into Guinness World Records (VIDEO)

Yeah, well you see RS, the 10 mile "out and back" from Woods Lake/Carson Pass to Fourth of July Lake that I'm doing tomorrow is entirely fictitious. Of course, seeing as this'll be my first on this trail, I won't bring the vest. My hydration vest, smartphone (for Runkeeper) and my trusty LaSportiva GTX Wildcats will suffice.

This "fictitious" trail run will be entirely above 8000ft in altitude.

But what the hell do I know? I'm just an "old guy" who's full of BS...I don't even climb those towers you see me post...LOL!

Fictitious pics and a runkeeper outline to come folks! FOR UNREAL! **wink**

Truth be told i have stopped all cardio.
Starting a 5/3/1 Monday so that hill would be kinda counterproductive.

i used to have that mentality, but seeing now the weight those crossfitters push while doing their cardio i can't justify that to myself anymore. But god do i hate distance running.
