Do Canadians talk differently?

I say record yourselves talking like you normally do, and post up a file we can download.
 
They totally do. Some of them. But not different enough to matter, nor different in a cool manner. So in turn, they remain asshats.
 
take the word organization for instance. Some pronounce it organ-eye-zation.
 
They don't say things like aboot all the time, nor is "eh" at the end of every sentence, but yes, some of them do pronounce things differently. And yes, I've heard aboot come out on more than one occasion. :)
 
Yes they do.

I was in Canada last November and most of them couldn't understand my Redneck accent.

Alot of "eh's" were in there sentences.

and yeah we may have redneck accents, but we arent as dumb as the rest of the country perceives

Jerry Springer for instance, dang we dont sleep withour brothers and sisters just to go on tv and brag about it

Yep, I still have all my teeth. Oh and get this! I wear shoes on a regular basis too. :mix:

You and me both. Although, I did have a cousin hit on my brother once at one of our reunions. Of course, she's in jail now, so I'm not really surprised at her behavior. :rolleyes:

I used to work with a guy from Regina. When he wanted to go drinking after work he'd say "hey we're going pops after work, wanna go?"
 
I say "fock" instead of "fuck" I gather, or so I'm told. And I say fock a lot. "Focking this," and "focking that." You know how it is. I probably do say "eh" a lot as well, but I don't really care. Either way, I'm not wearing any underwear and there's nothing you can do about it.

Yea they do. I don't think its just Canadians and British that do this though. I know Irish and Germans who also do this. I use to think it was just a thing like the metric system, used everywhere else except in the US.

Not all Canadians talk slow. Newfoundlanders talk really funny and fast. It's extremely hard to understand them. They are pretty much Canada's equivalent to the state's Alabamians.

The Canucks I've heard speak , sounded funny to me.
I've only heard the "aboot" once. I chuckled....
 
btw: this is a very old age era view of "canadians".

canadians, especially if you travel to Toronto or Vancouver -- will more likely be talking in mandarin, arabic, hindu or spanish than the stereotypical "aboots" and "ehs".

that's like a european thinking all Americans wear cowboy hats, and eat apple pie, and speak fast English...

then they land at la airport. :)
 
they definitely talk differently but its HOT AS HELL!

actually the more central canadians have what is known as a "neutral" accent. Lots of north american news casters (anchormen/women) are from Canada solely for their lack of distinctive accent (and because canadians are so much smarter/cooler/bigger/faster/stronger/have bigger peepees than everyone else)
