Dissent in Hollywood: Crash over Brokeback = Gay Agenda Setback

I had no idea Brokeback was a romantic film about two men - I didn't know until after it was released and the public shared their thoughts on the film and the *whispered* G A Y N E S S *end of whisper*

I knew there were cowboys involved so there would be no possibilty of getting to watch it.

Lets just stick to the FACTS please, if you have evidence, present it, if not. Everyone in the WORLD is an alleged homosexual, like Hugh Heffner, Ronald Regan, etc.

I have read many books about Wayne (and those associated with him like John Ford) and talked to people who worked with him, and there is no evidence of him being homosexual or bisexual. According to film director and historian David Bradley. Wayne was easily dominated by women he was in relationships with, and never got over breaking up with Marlene Dietrich, but that does not establish him as being anything but heterosexual.

It is also possible for homosexuals to have hetrosexual relationships by pretending that their partner is of the same gender. Secondly there is so much denial over John Wayne being gay because of "homophoebic fans". Finally, I heard that his homosexual confession was written in one of his "diaries" and discovered after he died.

No you just used it as fodder to try to support your own inadequate understanding that the movien nominations and choices were based on, you know... movies and the art behind them. Not a political statement.

I don't think many people would argue that agendas, political or otherwise have often affected the outcome of the Academy Awards.

As far as John Wayne being gay, if that is what you want to believe that is fine with me. It doesn't matter to me if he was gay. I was just saying that there are some well known actors who were secretly gay from that time period, Rock Hudson, Monty Clift (probably my favorite all-time actor), Dick Sargent, Sal Mineo and others. If John Wayne were gay we would probably know about it by now, but maybe you have an inside scoop.

I thought Crash was a very good movie that made you think and cringe. Now brokebutt would have done the same thing but in a gross way.

Besides like someone said it was a love story and love stories suck and are boring. I wouldn't see if it was a straight cowboy and cowgirl much less to homos.

Hollywood definetely has a gay agenda there are token homos in every movie these days with some type a gay side plot. I mean when you are watching the movie and you see the homo scene and you go what the heck oh I forgot the token homo part or character.

Personally, I am very glad it didn't win not only because I think Crash is a better movie but it tells hollyweird that the american public is mainly straight.

If the gay public wants gay movies let them make their own. They could even have a gay bond that saves the world while he lubes up. Or gay war movies that should make fox holes more interesting. And then they can watch that stuff and they can keep killing and hot chicks in the straight hollywood.

Just your admission of Marlene Dietrich is proof enough. Marlene Dietrich was the forerunner of being a gender bender. The reason John Wayne never got over her was because he found those masculine androgeneous features so attractive. Yet his agent and publist were hellbent on closeting him even to the extent of his arranged marriages. Geez people... this is old news.
