lean forward to hit chest, lean back to hit tri's ? is that how it works ?

i was doing tris today and was trying to lean back as much as possible but its tough

i always lean forward a bit cuz i feel it in my chest better. my triceps are small though, i need to bulk em up a bit. the head is pretty big but the bottom of em is small.

That's why a lot of guys who do wieghted dips tend to lean forward a lot. If you want to isolate the tris as much as possible, stay as straight as you can...it will pay off!!!

Overall, an excellent compound movement that hits the chest, triceps, and front delts. In order to receive the maximum benefit for the chest. . .focus on the lower portion of the movement. As for targetting triceps use a close grip with the arms kept closer to the body and like Corn said, focus on the top 2/3 of the movement.

ok thats what i did it my 2nd and 3rd sets, only go about 2/3 of the way cuz when i went down lower i could feel my chest take over. THis is good to know thanks guys

also use your head:)

chin down/lean forward for chest dips

chin up/lean back for tri's

youe head weighs 12-15lbs use it as a counterbalance.
