honestly, no I dont think so. I was told so many bad things and I never bombed anyone. I dished it out with words and tried to discredit them. It's hard not too. Even when I'm feeling especially chilled, I'm still likely to make some kind of return gesture. Returning the finger, or two over here, is almost a primal response.

Here on a chat board, one has the option to vent the primal response and then press backspace rather than clicking 'submit message'. It gives one the chance to take a step back after that first wash of emotion.
