difficulty getting to sleep

mastrmage

New member
Hey guys do any of you have a problem getting to sleep at night? I often have trouble getting to sleep before midnight, my body just doesnt like it. I work mon-fri 8-5 so getting up at 7am with average 6 hours sleep burns me. It's ok when I'm not training but when I'm workin out it's just not enough sleep and I wake up feeling hung over.

I'm thinking about taking sleepers for a little while to get my body into the habit of going to sleep earlier. Do sleeping tabs screw up the bodys ability to repair itself or anything? And would it pose a problem if you're on deca/stan aswell?

assuming your on deca it is probably your progest. levels.. try dosinex?

oops just realised there's a similar thread on sleep not far gone

gymrat, no haven't touched anything for over 3 months, but plan to start is all

Try benedryl or camimille tea before bed. I have one of those natures sounds alarm clocks i listen too. I like the sound of rain. Easy listening music helps and dont plan on sleeping easily if your just getting done working out. If thats the case, get to the gym earlier.

I don't sleep much at night either...but I don't have trouble falling to sleep.

Anyway, one of the easiest sleep aids are the Melatonin (3mg) that are availible about anywhere...100 tabs cost around $5. Don't get the 1mg!

Def get the 3mg tabs, 1mg wouldn't cut it for me, and 3mgs dont' cost much more, but melatonin worked great for me. Come to think of it, I don't know why I don't still take it, cuz I have been bitching about sleep lately

benzo's or if you man up and tell your doctor you can't sleep he'll give you remeron. shit puts you away with no grogginess, it is not a sleeping pill however, its side effect is it makes you pass out so you take at night, its an antidepressant, doctors have no problem giving it out, they like it alot as it is not addictive. great for deca which is what i just ran for 12 weeks and the insomnia was hell weeks 10 till now cause of progesterone, but i increased the remeron and its smooth sailin. lamictal also a great medicine. these are meds your doc will not have problem giving u unlike benzos.

Melatinin should be alright because it's a naturally occuring hormone. Any type of antihistamine or sleeping pill will not let your brain go through all the proper stages of sleep. Your body will be rested, but your brain may still feel sluggish.

lol, i tried remeron before bro, i think it was 30mgs, i slept for 18 hours straight. It was awesome, but I couldn't take it anymore, it knocked the shit outta me. I used it for around two weeks, but couldn't wake up in the morning. It will def put you to sleep though.

Just the thread I'm looking for! I can't sleep right now & it's kinda been like that for 3 days now. I don't know if it's mental or my cycle kicking in. Did my first shot 4 nights ago, and another one last night (Test E). And I'm on Dbol. A smaller goal of mine this cycle was to get huge amounts of sleep. Can't really do that.... Either way cycle is well & I'm loving the pumps!! (HOPEFULLY, I won't have to rely on sleep aids.)

Towards the end of my last cycle (deca/test) I had difficulty sleeping too. After finishing the cycle the inability to sleep slowly subsided. During that very phase just right after stopping my cycle I took some St John Wort's and Valerian to calm my mind and promote some sleeping.

boarded sleep professional to the plate...

yes, some sleeping tabs can hurt you. There are several which decrease the amount of delta sleep which you get. Delta sleep is the only time which thyroid hormone is inhibited so that growth hormone is released and can lead to your body ''healing'' itself better... (codes for protein synth, fat metabolism, increased bone density)

post what you are thinking about using, and I'll find out what effects it has on your sleep architecture.

for most people who take low doses of ambien, the decrease in both delta and rem sleep is only seen for the first part of the night, the sleep architecture is changed, but not with drastic consequences.

Hey - interesting thread. What about melatinin Mohawk? This is OTC and I hear that it helps sleep - is this true? What would you recommend (As a professional) for OTC sleep meds?

I think that it does, But some of the studies you read which "validate" it's use were actually done on individuals with "free-running" rhythms

I've taken Ambien off and on for a while, they worked well for me but you get tolerance quick. I've said this on a few threads cause noone else mentions it but I think Valerian root tincture(liq) works the best and 5HTP for sleep quality. But with anything you should take it 5 days then not for 2 this keeps you from building up a tolerance.

I find that 1mg of melatonin helps me adjust when I travel more than a couple timezones eastward. However, there's some evidence that constant usage may actually cause sleep disorders by constantly advancing the body's sleep clock.
Check out this blog, http://circadiana.blogspot.com , for lots on information about sleep and body clocks.

Try an OTC med or Melatonin. If that don't work get a script for Ambien and then sweet dreams.

Your offer is too good to pass up can you give some insights on the following?

My wife's doc has tried her with:
Ambien - tolerance and dependance issues
Nortriptyline - weight gain and ineffective
Amitryptalyne - hasn't tried it yet
Risteral - bigh time weight gain and fast!

what about Seroquel, Remeron or your suggestions for great sleep w/o weight gain or other serious sides?

Thank you very very much,

Bro - if she takes a few clen before bed it'll solve both problems. They knock me out pretty good and you burn fat all night. Have to change the sheets a lot and not a long term fix but hell she'll look good and be rested for a month or so.

Taking clen at night - I couldn't imagine doing that. Even taking 100mcg in the morning leaves me awake and exhausted at 1am with my heart pounding.

hey stay away from Remeron. If she had tolerance and dependance issues with ambien, it is out of my league to even qualify an opnion about anything. very few people become addicted to ambien. I will PM you some questions later on tonight...

Wow. You guys take a lot of melatonin. I have 600mcg tabs and cut them in half when I have trouble sleeping - even then, I still wake up a little groggy...

I recall reading a study on the use of melatonin as a sleep aid, and they conculded that it is effective with as little as 200mcg dosage. Remember, the stuff is still a hormone, and can potentially throw things a bit out of whack in the body. Start low - if you still can't sleep, increase the dosage accordingly.
