Diet question! :)

Hey guys. I was just wondering...I'm trying to cut fat (losing about 5% bf would be ideal) and started the Body For Life program. I've always been a healthy eater but the problem is that I was not eating enough...I only ate 2 medium sized meals a day, skipped breakfast and didnt get enough protein. But now a typical day for me looks like:

9am: 3-4 egg whites, 2 slices wheat toast or 3/4 cup oatmeal

11:30 pm: meal replacement bar

2pm: a can of tuna or some chicken breast, steamed veggies or salad, either an apple, 1 1/2 cups plain pasta or steamed rice

5:30pm: meal replacement bar

8pm: can of tuna or chicken, steamed veggies

10pm: 3 hard boiled egg whites

Usually at least a gallon of water a day.

I stopped taking the fat burners I had been taking before because they suppressed my appetite way too much and I was never hungry...didnt think that with taking those I would be able to bring myself to eat that often and they were not doing much anyway.

One of the things I curious about is the "free day" that this and most diets reccomend...I simply can't bring myself to even want any of the greasy, unhealthy stuff I would normally want, or the ice cream that my roommates tried to tempt me with earlier in the week....Is it bad to stick with this diet 7 days a week? I guess if I were out and about on a Sunday (my free day) and saw something I felt like eating I would do so and not feel guilty...

Just wondering if I'm on the right track here, I feel great! :)

a "re-feed" day is not going to wreck your diet, or your gains/loses. Do it in moderation, and not too often.

Cheat days are awesome and they give you something to look forward to while your choking down can after can of tuna and chicken breasts. That said however, if you don't want to have a cheat day, then don't! Just make sure that not having a cheat day does not lead to eventually realizing that you are missing something and then having a cheat week, or worse.

Hello

I know this post is not an answer to your thread but i was wondering if you could give me info on the BFL challenge if you dont mind. Ive registered to do the program in South Africa too but I find their website very difficult to find information.

Could you please tell me if the BFL program supplies you with a diet and training program - im not talking about Bill Phillip's book but rather EAS themselves. Do they send you diets and exercise programs when you register?

Much appreciated

Thanks for the input guys. (By the way I did eat spaghetti on cheat day...:)) I also don't do quite as many servings of carbs as he says to.

BatZGirl have you looked at www.eas.com for more information? Personally I am not taking the reccomended Myoplex because I'm a poor college student and I think I can do this just fine without. I lost about 2.5 lbs of fat the first week alone. This rules.
