no, I was always sticking up for the underdogs. I got into quite a few scrapes over defending the poor kids, akward kids, retarded kids, etc.
 
i probably did when I was really little, then my dad kicked the shit out of me for it and I never did it again.
 
you guys are fuckin' liars! cuz i was the only kid who did shit like that. and you know what my reward was? getting paired up with them during any group activity. and guess who always finished fucking last. HT- Human Treater of goodness towards handicaps.

i was never a champion of sorts, i just didn't torment them & the teachers noticed it. i got stuck with them because i wouldn't trip out on them. but i wonder if the teachers knew of the shit i got on the other end of the spectrum....

you're correct. the fellas that are in my charge during the day have no interest in hygiene or grooming. but the fuckers knew how to go across the street and get a massage.....

the only thing i regret is that there is no bright spots for these people. no victories. meaning, i don't here of them getting married, buying a home or new car, affording season tickets to the Wings, etc. it can be a long term hospice for many of them. on a tight budget. bologna sandwiches. velcro strap shoes. and plaid pants. but they can make me laugh. some of the shit they spew is golden. i wish i could post this pic one of them left in a scrap book. it's crude, poorly drawn, but i'm still laughing....it's like, so this is what he was thinking.....

Despite all that, they always seem so happy. Sometimes not knowing all the things we are supposed to do and have and be might make us happier too. They have the easy way to zen and the absence of want.

No, the short answer was because they weren't right. That sounds mean, but mentally challenged kids are different, and the difference frightened me, and that's natural for children.

I'm not one of those people comfortable around mentally challenged people, sorry. I'm a critter person. You need someone to handle an animal, from mouse to Clydesdale, snake to parrot, and I have no problems with it. I don't do well with my own species and I am particularly uncomfortable with people who are mentally challenged.

I try not to make a habit of it, unfortunately, there is an apartment building called "Pleasant Heights" in my city that I respond to calls for service at all the time. It is fucking full of short bus window lickers, violent ones.

My friend's son is mentally challenged...when I used to bring my cats over so he can pet them he used to light up like a bulb. This made him happy. How lucky for him. The small things made him smile...we should all be that lucky!

good point....is it my obligation to be PC about the metally ill??...i dont like to be around them for any reason. i do not wish them any harm, and would protect them if they became a victim in a circumstance. but to be comfortable and hang out, or deal with their special needs- I am not equiped for it. i understand my abilities very well. they dont need to be PC.

Me to a T.

As a kid, I was afraid of what i didn't understand. I couldn't figure out why god allowed them to be like that. I typically avoided them just because i didn't feel like I knew how to interact or even what to say. (yea, me not having something to say...so, i grew up) I would always pray for the "kids i can't help" when I was little.

As a teen, I always befriended them. They made me laugh cuz nothing they ever said made sense. It always seemed as if they found some sense of self worth seeing me laugh. *shrugs* win/win for all I suppose. I broke this chick's finger and bashed her head into the basketball court one day because she was making jokes about one of the kids and he started crying. I'm an impulse kinda gal.

Before I had mini me...I was overwhelmed with saddness/compassion/whatever you call the gooey feelings any time I saw someone who was challenged.

Now, having a child...it truly does make me tear up everytime I see a family together with a handicap child. Doing the same things I do with mini me. Makes me so dang greatful for her health.

Can I possibly write anymore?

Oh yea, I use "you're retarded" way too much. :(

I usually take my cats to the "BMW" vet place,but since she worked for this vet I took him to her
and fat fuck declawed him like an amatuer
the guy's in his 50s so he's not new at declawing cats
he just fuckin' butchered him to spite me

I think any vet who declaws is cruel! Most vets (well where I live any way) will not declaw cats anymore.

besides my two cats occassionally get into scraps and chase each other around
before I had the male declawed he ripped apart my female's female parts
that was a major vet bill
they had some kind of hose thing stuck up in there to facilitate her pee until she healed
 
I dont agree w/ the whole cat declawing thing.

Sometimes people are waaay to sensitive about animal rights and needs and not for the animal's own good. The surgery hurts the cats but not for long ; and both my cats are fine.

i would not own my two animal shelter rescuted cats if there were laws against declawing and many other cat owners feel the same.

Death to kitties or declaw kitties?
