Description: Oral steroid oxandrolone, first produced in 1964 by the drug manufacturer Searle. It is a mild anabolic with low androgenic activity, one that could be safely used as a growth stimulant in adolescents. Oxandrolone will not aromatize, and therefore the anabolic effect of the compound can actually promote linear growth. Women usually also tolerate this drug well at low doses, and at one time it was prescribed for the treatment of osteoporosis. The usual goal in this instance is an additional gain of strength, as well as more quality look to androgen bulk. Woman who fear masculinizing effects of many other steroids this drug is most comfortable. But at higher dosages of course, a suppression of natural testosterone levels will still occur with this drug as with any anabolic steroid.
Dosage: Usual dosage for men is in the range of 15-25mg (6-10 tabs) daily. Women usually use about 5-10mg for considerable results.
Side Effects:Oxandrolone is a 17-alpha akylated oral steroid, while the liver enzyme tests show occasionally elevated levels.

So what both your citings tell us is that while var IS a derivative of dht, it lacks the ability to be used as dht in the body. Since dht is what exacerbates androgenic alopecia, var has little effect on MPB.
Or at least that's my interpretation.

I honestly don't know. Primo might have the same characteristics. All I know is that while primo, winny, proviron, etc. shreddedy my hair, var seemed to have no effect whatsoever.
That said, some good bros like TraxZBT have written me to say that var caused them to shed. After hearing that, I guess I should consider myself lucky that var doesn't hurt my hair. I love the stuff, especially now that I'm feeling to old to do hardcore cycles anymore.
