Detecting Prostate Problems

Is one of the signs of an enlarged or inflamed prostate pain where your lower abs meet your pubic bone? It feels like the pain is IN the muscle -- almost on top of it even...

I don't show any other signs (i.e. difficulty urinating). About 6 weeks ago (50% into a test cycle), I felt some pulling in my lower lower abs while deadlifting. Later in the day, I was doing weighted sit-ups and noticed my abs failing on much lower weight. Well... next day it felt like I had torn my abs from hip-to-hip. If it had been more localized, I would have thought hernia but the pain covered a broad area of 12-ish inches.

I had to take weeks and weeks off from abs, and it's still somewhat sore. I'm just starting to use them again and it hurts like hell. I haven't ruled out some kind of adhesion or strange re-healing, but that area just seems to stay inflamed.

Thanks in advance,

This doesn't answer your question directly, but one of the things my HRT doctor has me checking is PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) every month.

PSA is not a good indicator of prostate cancer (it is an indicator of prostate inflammation and growth)

True...a Dutch university/hospital discoverd a new gene called PCA3. This gene is on an average 100 times more present in men with prostate cancer so it's a good marker for it...I don't know of this test is available in the US
