Designer Dumbbells

I'm looking into purchasing these Bowflex dumbbells.

Bowflex Dumbbells

Considering the expense, I wanted to get some opinions. I'm sure the "cool" factor will fade but I do want something aesthetically pleasing. Thanks.

they are a nice set of dumbbells. But Id get sothing that feels comfortable. Go to your locals sports shop and try some out. See which ones you like better.

hmm they only go up to 52.5 lbs ....would these be for your gf :)

I think they are a fanastic product but the 52.5 lb max limits their use. But the whole bowflex idea is higher reps to lean body not large body.

If they came out with a significantly heavier set I wouldn't have an issue with buying them.

look at the size at only 52.5 lbs could you imagine how large theyd be at say 100 lbs.....btw with 52.5 would you be curling sets of 50 thats a bit annoying

getting lean is more about diet...i lift heavy n hard and keep my diet in check thats how you attain a lean body...

Please do not buy them. Instead check these out. www.ironmaster.com
I have these. They go up to 120lbs each and come with a free stand. They were $708 delivered about 3 years ago. They are rock solid. The handles are thick and comfortable and they don't have any hint of sloppiness in them.

Edited to add: You can get the standard set with goes up to 75lbs each for $449 if you don't need the 120lb add on kit yet.

This is one of my favorite pieces of home gym equipment. Third only to my squat rack and Legend flat/incline bench.
