delivery problems, need advice

after taking the advice of several bros on here I had my gear shipped to another house I own under a fake name (via usps). The name I used is the previous owners because I still get mail for him as recently as friday. The shipment was expected tuesday but there was no mail at all so I ran the tracking number and it said the package was delivered and gave a specific time too. I could see that everyone on the block received mail but I didnt get any at all. So now I just figured some lazy civil servant didnt feel like finishing the route and would deliver it today. Today again all my neighbors got mail but I get nothing, not even junk mail. So now I'm freaking out. I dont know if they know its gear and opened it.......can they do that? or if they just think something is up with a package being delivered under the old owners name (they didnt have a problem putting his bills in my mail box over the last year) Wouldnt they just return to sender if they thought there was something up? I dont understand why the website says delivered but I'm not getting any mail at all. I'm too paranoid now to call my local post office. any ideas? anyone ever have this happen?

i had a pack take 3 weeks and my guy resent. the second one came on time and then the other came like a week later. it was unopened, who knows what happened. its weird it says delivered. does it say delivered or enroute. if it says enroute or accepted at a post office all that means is that they have it and it will come soon. if it says delivered or complete then it is weird

it was accepted at the post office on monday (gives my local p.o.'s zip code) and then it says delivered on tuesday. it was priority which i think is two business days. so today is the 3rd day.

The PO could have delivered it to the wrong address. I had that happen. Once I notified them they tracked it down for me. It took them about a week.

yea if it says delivered and accepted that is weird. i would be very weary.

well I have no intention of going to p.o. to pick it up, I'm hoping they just return to sender so I'm not out all my $$$. I would think they would atleast put a note in the mail box to pick it up if they thought something was up.

yea it is weird man. i still never know what happened to mine. it said it came into the city i live in and just no activity for weeks. every cop i saw i was ready to book. you should be ok, it probably got lost. usps is not always that reliable. a few times my guy had to fedex it to me. if you are using a good source they should resend

What if he filled out a mail forwarding request and it got sent to his new address?
Thats possible...sometimes some get thru to the old address and sometimes the Post Office catches and sends to the new address.

you think i shoudl just call my p.o. and say i'm the person who was supposed to receive it or call the 1-800 # and say i'm the sender and the person I mailed to never received but the website says delivered?

i dont think he did because he got divorced and then the bank foreclosed. I have been getting everything for him from license plate renewals to bills and other shit.

I told the source whats going on but he said if it say delivered then it was delivered. he thought maybe one of the neighbors grabbed it but there is no way. I havent brought up resending yet I'm still trying to find out whats going on. Unfortunatly this was the first time I'm using him, so there is no relationship yet. Matter of fact its my first time using an online source so I'm really freaking out and my woman keeps saying I told you so, I told you not to do it. LOL

well i don't know who you ordered from but it was a mistake to not just sent it to your place. you just created more factors for you to not recieve it by sending it to the fake addy.

+1

Maybe package was forwarded to old owners new address.. When you move, you sign a note at the post office, to have all mail forwarded.

It could have been forwarded to his new address. I know you're still getting some of his mail, but the forwarding is never 100% effective. It also could have been delivered to a neighbor, or it could possibly be at the post office. I would call and ask where it's at.

Exactly. They dont catch everything.. When I bought my last house, the old owner occasionally got mail. I sorta accidently mailed the card to renew his playboy subcription.. I got 2 magazines, then they stopped coming. I think they went to his new addy.. :)

People Steel USPS packages! I have had that happen two times when my mom sent me some things. Just another possability!

i heard the same shit over and over and over again till i stopped using the mail. in my opinion, its not worth the risk anymore. hope everything works out for you.

I think the address forward is only good for six months and he hasnt lived there for well over a year.

Okay, here's an update I had my buddy go into the post office and say he was "the fake name" and ask why he hasnt received mail in two days and the supervisor is looking into it but she did say that if the property is vacant they are not supposed to deliver mail there. He told her he is remodeling and lives in the basement while doing the first floor. She is supposed to speak with the carrier and he is going to call her tomorrow morning to fins out more. I just hope they didnt return to sender because I just found out the source used a b.s. return addy.

call the post office... give them the tracking number and ask them to help you out. when all i said and done explain u have a busy schedule and cant get the the p.o. to pick it up and to leave it on your doorstep.

if something is up you will know because they will want you to come sign for it. or they will shuffel you around on the phone....possibly to different people. all they need is a tracking number, and address, not ur name...

and yes i know all this because i had a priority mail with a grand cash in it for some of grandma's cookies, and it got fucked uptracking and delivery wise and i got real nervous, but the people at the post office dont know whut was in ur package so just act cool

you just put your source at risk by doing that..if that package is lost and they open it they will track it back to the post office it was sent from ,and since that tracking had a reciept they could view the camera and see who was the one sending the package at that time...then next time he comes in to ship he gets popped and so does all his customers he is sending out that day!

if you dont want you family at risk open a po box with a diff home address to have things shipped...mail is pretty safe..its when you do things liek this that add problems to everybody! good luck and make better decisions next time!

Update: ok I finally got it.....It turns out the mail carrier put a stop on my mail because she thought the house was vacant. she got in trouble from the supervisor for doing it because there is supposed to be some paperwork invloved b4 they can do that. what a relief. next time, real name and real addy for me

I* bet you he put in a change of adress and his junk mail and your gear ended up at his new adress!!!

I had a package take like 5weeks or so one time. it was during the Christmas season though. Just wiat it out a lil while before you start to worry at all.
