deconditioning my brain from TV

So I painted my room, as I was putting everything back I decided that TV is one of the main reasons why I don't go to sleep early, and why my mind doesn't decongest from noise and data at any time of day. So I decided not to put it back in. It's insane to now see how automatic turning the TV on came after any sign of silence. As I lay here my mind keeps telling me to grab the remote and turn the TV on. My arm raises to go toward the remote and then I remember that the TV is not here any more. There are still tv's in the living room and kitchen but atleast once I come to my room to sleep, I will not be distracted by sitcom reruns, the news, sportcenter, etc..... Who knows, I might not put te tv back in until spring training starts, if at all.

Anyone want to buy a 27", 4 year old Philips?

The TV only has power when it's tube is glowing with images, as long as it's not in my room and plugged in it has no power. I need to call and cancel the DTV subscription to that TV's reciever.

I've fallen back into the watch tv every night thing, it bugs the shit outta me but thats where Im at right now. 2 years ago I put the TV in the closet for 6 weeks, but it came back out when my kid came back from her moms.
TV is evil. Ya got one life and way too much of it is spent zoning on worthless trash.

I used to read a lot of books before, lately I've started 3-4 different books and I notice that when I'm reading at some point my mind says "enough reading, Seinfeld is on". I'm hoping to finish those books and many more now.
