Yesterday for the first time in as long as I can remember, possibly ever, I did heavy sets of full deadlifts. If I'm doing multiple reps over a few sets, its usually been rack deadlifts, snatch-grip or SLDLs.
I always used to be skeptical when people said that they hit your entire back. Sure, when I did different variations I could see/feel it happening, but since I've only ever done heavy singles off the ground, I'd never experienced it...
Boy, what a wake-up call! Today my entire back, including my lats, knows all about last night's 5x5. They're really like no other lift, squats included.
