Deadlifts before or after.......

........I do pullups?? This is what I do on my back day:

40 pullups
5x5 deads
3x10 bent over bb rows

I'm not sure if I should start with the deads, or with the pullups. I've done it both ways and kind of like starting with the pullups first. It gives me a nice stretch and allows me to get ready for heavy deads.
 
I agree with the boys and say before too......and those are some damn strong pull-ups. Do you do 40 all in one shot, or do 40 total over the course of a number of sets. Either way, my fat ass can't do 40 pullups anyway you slice it, you've got some karma coming your way.
 
I would think the 40 was over multiple sets...even with a name like TZan? :)

as stated above, hit the big stuff first, will get you all warmed up for the chins

i have to agree with what they're saying. deads first and also add weight to those pull ups even if you do them over 3 or 4 sets. Add some weight IMHO.
 
The people have spoken.....

I will make sure to deads before I do my pullups. The 40 reps of pullups is spaced through 4 sets. I usually do:

1x15 reps own weight
1X15 reps 15lbs added
1x5 reps 20lbs added
1X5 reps 25lbs added

Really burns pretty good by the end of my 3rd set.

P.S. I just started to add weight to them and was amazed at how well it has worked. I deffiently would recomend it to anyone looking for some extra burn.
 
only problem i have if i do deads first is that i can barely keep myself in position to do barbell rows, not to mention how much less weight i have to use.

but in doing both ways, i'd have to say my back is fried more when i do deads first and i'm fresh to work with heavier weight
