Deadlift while legs are still sore?

I did Squats 3 days ago, but my hamstrings are still sore. I added in stiff legged deads this week b/c my hamstrings were lagging, compared to my quads. Now, even after a day of rest from chest day, I am still sore in my legs. Should I do deads still, or just rest another day?

Chances are the soreness could be from lactic acid build up. I wouldn't have any issue with deads after 2 days plus it will help to flush out the lactic acid as well.

If your legs are sore, stay away from pulling. why risk injury?

Bad feeling going into deadlift day with sore hams/legs. Listen to your body. If its sore it needs time to recover.

I pulled yesterday. working sets: 3x5 for 305lbs. and it wnet up like a rocket. next week 3x5 315lbs...i need to get back into the 400's for 3 sets of 5 reps...

im not sore today, but i can feel my lower body was worked yesterday. so im off today and will do shoulders tomorrow.

just do it, how is your body ever going to get conditioned to the work if you dont get through it.

your not going to get injured, it could even help you recover faster getting some blood flowing in your legs

They did feel better once I got the blood flowing through them. I pulled 305 pretty easy. On to 315 next time. That was my goal, pulling 3 plates by the end of summer(I know I have a long way compared to you guys, but hey, it's a start).

On another note, what rep range do you train in for dead's, Dave?

Why not just do rack deadlifts? Take your legs out of the lift.

Great idea.

I would also do a bit of walking cardio after a heavy leg session, active recovery.

never over 5 reps when the weight is getting heavy. its pointless to do high reps for deads, its a power movement it should be done in low reps. Plus when you get fatigued from doing higher reps your form breaks down and thats when injuries happen.

Good stuff. My last 2 sets are usually 3 reps.
