DeadLift Question?

nigg

New member
I was wondering what part of my routine to put the deadlifts under. Should I put it under my back or my leg part of my routine? Also, what muscle does it work out the most?

Definitely back, and I try to keep it as far apart from my lef routine as possible. Deadlifts add great thickness to your back.

Key muscles involved in the DL are:

Spinal Errectors (lower back)
Hamstrings
Glutes
Traps (all four sectons, not just around the clavicles)
Forearms
Quads
(and probably in that order)

HEAVY deadlifts will also significantly involve your:

Biceps
Rear Delts
Lats
Calves
Abs

That really just leaves your chest, tris, and front delts completely untouched.

Thus I often like to get a "full body workout" by alternating sets of weighted dips with deads!

I'd do them with back...at least 72 hours apart from legs.
