Deadliest Martial Art - Juko Kai!!!!

Is there an official licensed federation? I'd like to study it but don't want to learn from some hillbilly that saw a couple of training tapes.

You mean Krav Maga? Well look it up online, its not taught in many places, only one place I know of in NYC and other than that my old boss used to show us stuff.

One style is not better than the other. I have seen great people train in poor styles and be good...and horrible people train in good styles and really suck. Ya know what I mean?

Bump for that B Fold.

But after having looked (and reading) that Juko-Kai website, I feel infinitely dumber now.

As a side note - I can see this thread going down the lane of a couple others, mainly the superiority of one "martial" art to the next. It just depends on the student and the teacher of the system you are using and the environment for its application.

Personally - I like the takedowns of American wrestling, BJJ grapple holds, Akido Joint locks, and Muay Thai strikes (knees & elbows).

Should only take 20-30 years to learn all that. THEN WATCH OUT!

Personally, I'd love to learn the joint manipulation of Aikedo, the grappling of Jui Jitsu, and the real world scenerios of Krav Maga.

I'd rather choke someone out or break their arm than punch them in the face (even though that's a very necessary skill too).

my g/f trained in aikido for 8 years, i would call her a very competent street fighter. she also said she learned almost nothing from aikido that she would actually use or work on the street.
take that for what it is worth.

granted, i have been in a joint lock and it hurt like hell, but the chances of someone using the aikido style joint lock actually getting a competent fighter in one i would say are slim. i have wrestled with some gracie guys like once and felt VERY incompetent at wrestling afterward.

Krav Maga is a combat technique hand by hand developed by the Israelies armed forces, to fight in close quarter and against armed and unarmed individuals.

It is not an art or martial art because the ideas behind it ITS KILL or KNOCK out the guy.

I like it, you dont have one millions moves at the Jet li or Jackie Chang style but for self defense is the best technique out there. I dont recommend it to anyone,
only to peoples working in law enforcement, military or security or walking in ghettos.

but try

www.kravmaga.com might enlight you a bit.

I am lucky my teacher is Israel Defense Forces Teacher and Also teach my unit
great guy :D

Exactly why I want to take it. Simple and effective. I'm no hot head that gets into fights. As a matter of fact, I haven't been in a real fight since high school (jumped in an alley by 5 guys once though, but I don't consider that much of a fight). I've walked away from a couple that would have done nothing but gotten me or someone else hurt. Point is, if I fight at this point in my life, it's because I think I'm in real danger.

Also, I've come to believe this would be the best system for me to learn as I'm headed into the Army very soon and I like the military aspects of the training.
