i read in another thread today that you should stop at 8 reps, rest 20 seconds bang out a few more, rest 20 more sec, and bang out a few more...i was always under the assumption that you should go to failure, then rest pause twice...even if you go up in the 16-20 range...then you just know that you should be adding weight the next time...you should add weight as long as you hit 11-15 total with RP's included...this was how i took it...is this wrong?
 
nope thats right. i get to where i am barely eeking out a 7-8/3/2 rest pause, if i get less than that, i will repeat that weight the next time and beat the reps, if i get that then i up the weight next time. for the preliminary weeks you may overshoot the reps a bit, but thats to be expected as you get accustomed to the rest/pause sets.
