Hell she is going to look smokin. Daisy what are you going to do with your hair? (Daisy has the most beutiful natural blonde hair I have ever seen in my life it is really thick.)

*sigh*

Will you ladies come stay with me so you can pep me up when I am feeling down? :) You are so sweet. :)

Hmmm...hair....down, or a half-updo. I don't like full updo's on me. I am getting my hair and makeup done for me. :) We are both getting a massage, I am getting a mani&pedi, maybe even a body scrub/wrap. All at the Ritz Carlton! It's gonna be heavenly!

My dress is strapless, with an asymetrical back. LOOONNNNG train that will be bustled up (down only for pics) since we are outdoors. I will definately post pics when we have them. Wedding day is Sat Oct 23rd, so only 28 days! :)

We are going to take a short mini-moon, probably to SoCA or AZ. Just to get away and relax (and have lots of married sex), lol.

Real honeymoon will be in Feb. We are putting off baby-making until after the HM, so I can drink my ass off. :) Also, I am not covered under FMLA (Fam Leave & Medical Act) until I have been at my job for 12 months. SO I do not want to give birth before Aug 18, 2005. We both want to do it now though. I went off BCP last week to get regulated and be hormone-free for a few months before trying.

Yep, I know full well how beautiful DG looks.....she will look amazing no matter how she does her hair....

DG will you do a hair trial?? I did that for my wedding-- you take your veil & they do several styles.....I had pics taken.....

Are you being married in Vegas?? Man, I wanna come!! Waaaah!!

Yup, getting married at the Lake Las Vegas Ritz Carlton. :)

I am going to do hair and makeup trials when I get the time to make the appointments.....

I'll do pics of my trials when they happen....

Here are some pics of my dress, my shoes, my tiara, and the ceremony site at Lake Las Vegas. :)
Love the dress, shoes, tiara and the location is breath taking.

How many guests?

Thanks.... I love the location too. :) What you can't see in the pic is the waterfall behind the beach. It is awesome. :)

Very small - we are having about 20-25 people. All family, except both of us invited one friend&guest. We didn't want a big ordeal. We wanted it simple, warm, fun. Inviting hundards of people is not either one of our styles. We would have eloped and gotten married on some tropical island, but my parents would have KILLED me. I mean, killed me DEAD. :)

Plus, there is no formal sit-down dinner. I wanted people to be able to mill around and talk to everyone. We are doing a couple food stations, plus 4-5 butler circulated hor d'ourves, open bar w/bartender, and a cake station. There will be cocktail tables (low and high) with chairs/stools. The tables have a silk burgandy covering, with ivory rose petals and ivory candles on them. Our reception is outside in a Tuscany-inspired courtyard, with flowers, trees. No extra decoration was required, it is beautiful. Simple and elegant.

Can you tell I am TERRIBLY excited about the wedding? I am really proud of it! :) Not just the actual wedding, but the great guy I am going to marry! He is the best.

How exciting Daisy! Isn't time flying? I'm down to less than 3 weeks now! Oct 15th. I'm going to do a half updo because it just looks better with my tiara/veil. It sounds like it's going to be beatiful! I'm jealous that you got to do a little wedding! That's what I wanted but as my dad gave us a lot of money to work with, it ended up meaning that he had a lot of say in things. So now we're at around 150 people. I was pissy about it at first but now I'm just thankful for all that we've been blessed with. It should be a beautiful day!

We went with burgundy too and lots of fall colors. Everything is all shades of dark red, apricot, and a little bit or orange. I'm VERY excited to see all of my flowers put together. I'm also excited to have a zillion pictures taken. I'm sure you feel the same way! It'll be interesting to see it all put together on that day. It's unreal how much work goes into planning!

Congrats!

Daisy I love small weddings a few of my friends have done that and it turns out very nice. Plus then they are no in debt up to there eye balls after. I like the idea of eloping as well but seems we have same kinda parents mine would kill me if I did something like that.
Everythings sounds so beautiful. I can't wait to see the pics.

Your wedding sounds great - I love all the colors. They sound like perfect fall colors. :) The ONLY thing I missed out on without a big wedding is having a bridal party and choosing lots of colors. I kinda wish I did that - but then again, I still could have. I just chose not to. :) We have NO bridal party, which is kinda weird (planning the entry and exit was easy! lol) but also nice - no other people's personality to deal with! :)

My Dad was VERY generous, but also gave me free reign to do what I wanted. It was easy, since he lives across country! :) I kept them in the loop with everything, sending pics, etc , but overall he trusted my decisions. It was actually quite nice and not stressful.

But I am ANXIOUS for it to be over!

I cannot WAIT to see your pics R, I know they will be awesome. :)

I hope you ladies have FABULOUS weddings - post up many pics so we (especially me) can live vicariously through you.

I can understand the anxiety Daisy! I know that everyone I've hired knows what they're doing, I just can't picture it all coming together. The worst part is that my family isn't letting me help with anything the day of the wedding. Nothing. They say that they want me to relax that morning/day but I'm just going to be pacing around wondering if it's all going how I want it to. lol I'm not good at chilling out.

I wish I had a picture of my veil. I love it...I keep wearing it around the house. lol For as much as they cost I should get to wear it a few times.

This is kind of a scary picture of my site but it's a restoerd 1800's courthouse. The courthouse is on top of a hill overlooking a river valley. The leaves should be amazing. We're getting married outside on the steps and the reception is inside. If the weather is awful it'll all be inside.

...and don't feel weird about not having attendants! There are no set rules but they say the general guideline is 1 attendant per 50 guests. You have less than that so none are necessary! ;)

Hi ladies,

Sounds like the 2 of are going to have beauitful weddings, congratulations to you both.

I'm going to a wedding on October 16th, it's my boyfriend's cousin's wedding, and Raina she has the same bridemaids dresses as you, same color too.

bridesmaids dresses.....I'm been tapped to be a bridesmaid AGAIN on Nov 20. I'm not paying $537 for another a dress I'll wear once.

Daisy, it sounds like you guys are planning exactly the same kind of wedding I want...small and intimate. Does the outside thing scare you much? That's what I want too, but the weather issue makes me nervous. (no I'm not getting married anytime forseeable, just fantasizing :))

RW - no weather doesn't scare me at all. Remember, I am in Las Vegas. It is sunny 360 days of the year. :) Weather is generally in the 80s during the day in late Oct, and in the 60s at night. ANd sunny, of course.

Granted, with that attitude of mine, now it will rain. lol

R - BEAUTIFUL dress. I feel the same way about my veil. I can't find pics of it! It is Ivory, with cystals in it, and edged in gold. Dress is Ivory, as are shoes. Detailing on dress is gold-ish. We were getting ready to go shopping the other weekend and I came out of the bedroom with my tiara on....he just looked at me and rolled his eyes. ;)

I like the no bridal party idea...half the time it ends up being the biggest headache and causes so many unnecessary arguments. You don't seem like the type who would become psycho nazi bride and try to run her bridesmaids' lives for a few months, but still...(I speak from bad bridesmaid experience).

I paid for all my bridesmaid dresses. It was $800 but oh well. They'll look lovely...and the dresses are so pretty in person I really wish I could have one. It was all drama free. I brought my sister in to try on dresses (of course making her try on EVERY one including all the frilly girly pink things I could find to piss her off) and I picked the dress. I'm REALLY excited that I have one friend driving from IL to be in it and another flying in from Canada to be in it. I cannot wait to spend the day before with girlfriends.

It's much easier to wear the tiaras than the dresses! I'd be scared of getting something on it. The dress I picked was my 2nd choice. The one I wanted was 3 times more than what we budgeted for it. The gold on your gown sounds lovely! My tiara is gold wire hand-twisted into floral patterns with white crystals and the veil has clusters of 3 of the same crystals on it. I figured the veil could sparkle since the dress doesn't.

I haven't been a bridezilla. It's actually been pretty fun to plan because I didn't have an image set in my mind of how it was going to be. I just picked out what I liked whether it was traditional or not. Instead of a dj we're having a guy sing live and everything is all rat pack music. I wanted something simple and adult with people I love and food I adore. lol I want it all to just be a mellow night.

A few weeks ago I was temporarily worked up about things and told J that I just wanted everything to be perfect. He told me that it wouldn't be perfect and as long as I knew that and could make the best of whatever happens, it'll be a great day.

No ma'am I didnt know your location. I guess I overlooked that. Wow, you live in Vegas, that's pretty cool. :D

Sorry for assuming...I thought you knew. :) Yup, live in LV. Rarely rains or is cloudy here. It is still in the mid-upper 90s ED. IF it rains here it is usually about 10 min then it is sunny again - usually just a light drizzle too. The mountains surrounding Vegas seem to do a good job stopping any weather patterns from entering the Valley, lol.

Sounds like where I was born in Mexico (Chihuahua) and where we lived in Phoenix when we first moved to the US. I love the desert. I think Vegas would be cool cause you've got all the entertainment of a big city, plus the desert beauty is a short drive out of the limit.

Are you a desert native or a transplant? (and sorry if I'm jacking your thread)

Transplant. Moved here 3 years ago. I am originally from the East Coast - NC/VA/MD. :) I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the West Coast. LV is cool - we rarely go to the Strip - other than nice dinners and shopping. But the option is there, which is very nice.

My Honey and I are thinking about where we would live after LV - we have considered Phoenix. Property is low there, plus weather is similar to here. I love heat, I love sunshine. I hate cold, hate snow and hate rain. BUT, we are still considering moving back to NC (I am from there, he is not). I would like my kids to grow up with actual seasons! lol

Heehee...ever see any foxy CSIs? :lmao: Honey, I'd commit a crime if the cat that came to check out the scene looked like Warick!!

You guys could move to Georgia if you like seasonal weather but hate cold and snow. I've lived here 15 years and havent seen any snow on the ground since I think 1993. And there really isnt a winter either, it never stays consistently cold. It'll get cold for a week or so (mornings in the upper 20's to low 30' s) then get mild again all the way through from Dec to March.

Daisy I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful.....I like the small close weddings.....having a big family all our weddings have been well HUGE.......

If you want seasons you could always move here to Canada......my kids LOVE all the snow we get....but it might be a bit cold for you here even in the summer LOL

Yea and you would freeze your hehind off here in the winter, winters here in Canada are brutal!!!! :worried: I try to take a vacation somewhere south every winter, so I can remember what heat feels like. lol

Summers are usually nice, except this last 1.

Miss24K where in Canada are you??

I'm in Ottawa.....it's freezing here in the winter, but the canal is the best part of winter....

This summer sucked...........I can't believe our summer was more of a fall weather

Congradulations! All these weddings...must be something in the water!

We just had our wedding last weekend. It was our 20th anniversary but this time we did it in the church and we wrote our own vows. We only had about 40 people and I loved it being small and intimate. Reception was back at our house, catered. Everything went perfectly. I did have a maid of honor and my daughter was a Jr. bridesmaid/flower girl. We all wore dresses that we can wear again...I'm wearing mine again when I'm maid of honor at another friends wedding 3 weeks after mine. The night before the wedding we had some friends over and it was wonderful. My maid of honor and I made our bouquets and drank martini's. LOL With the party being at home it was so relaxed, then as family left, more friends came over and the party got kinda wild with us all in the hot tub and dancing on the patio. Friends slept over and the next morning we woke up in the middle of a hurricane so the reception turned into a hurricane party and they stayed that night too! LOL My sister and her g/f and another friend couldn't get a flight back out of FL so they were stuck here longer which was excellent, that just meant one more night to cellebrate! So, long story short, our wedding party went from Friday night until Tuesday morning. LOL The day after the wedding, during the hurricane, we lost power, so we heated up the left over food on the grill in foil pans while we continued to empty the bar. The night of the wedding the guys had gone through a bottle of Patrone tequilla quickly, so my friend and I took a ride to the liquor store and while we were in the parking lot a woman called out to us and she said her little boys wanted to know who the princess was...I was still in my wedding dress with the little tiny tiara on. I just beamed...kids are the best! I was going to go to the hairdresser the morning of the wedding but I slept in so I did my hair myself. It came out good enough, I practiced earlier in the week with a hairpiece to give me some extra length since my hair is still shorter than I'd like. I'll post pics when I get them back. Between the romantic ceremony and the awesome party, it was the best weekend I've ever had! It's been a week and I'm still grinning ear to ear! ;)

Oh...and girls, do not fret over anything! It all works out!

That sounds wonderful Puddles! I think it says a lot that the hurricane didn't ruin everything. What a tale! Congrats on your beautiful and adventurous day!

I had a makeup trial yesterday (I wanted to make sure that they wouldn't make me look like a hooker on my wedding day). Wow do they ever put a lot of makeup on for wedding pictures, but I felt beautiful. It was such a fun day! I took yesterday off and made 7 wedding related appointments. This morning I had a cut/color followed by my final dress fitting and now I'm about done!
