Cycle while on TRT

Hi, I am new to the forum. Let me give some background. I am fifty….I know ancient. :D Over the last two years, I lost 100lbs. Mostly, training for triathlons, running, biking and swimming. I realized I became a smaller “fat guy.” After a knee injury kept me from running, I began lifting weights. I was frustrated by m progress and because of some other symptoms went to a longevity Doc and was diagnosed low T. Really my T was 300 ng, but my symptoms were consistent with low T.

She started me on Test Cyp injections 100mg every three days. The change has been dramatic. I feel much better. I am now doing sets of 200lbs in the bench and overall I feel like I did when I was 30 years old. I am losing weight very slowly, but I realize I have put on a considerable amount of muscle. I am current 245 and 25% body fat. I really look good in clothes, not so much naked. :worried:

Here is my question. My Doc is open-minded. Matter of fact she has my wife injecting 15mg Test a week. (On a side note, sex has been great! She has turned into an animal! :p ) I think she would be open to allowing me to bump my Test to 400mg a week for a couple cycles a year. At 400mg a week for let’s say 8 weeks twice a year be enough to make dramatic changes in my body? Again, I am 50 but I want to get crazy fit for the first time in my life

i wish it was that easy man as just taking some more test to look great.

i would stick with the TRT and I would look into strengthening your diet. if your knee is still messed up then hit the pool and do a bunch of laps, you will be shocked at how fast you lose weight swimming and it isn't so hard on your knees. lots of exercise, even walking is great. you don't have to run and pound your knees.

and once you do lose that extra weight don't get lazy and build fat back. you should be under 20% bf in no time.

Hey thanks. I know it's a lot of work, I have lost 100lbs. :D I have just started running again because after 6 months of not running and starting to lift the knee finally responded.

If I had to do it over again I would have lifted from the beginning of the weight loss journey and not done so much crazy cardio. I would have ramped up the cardio when I was within striking distance of my weight goal.

I'm just getting opinions. My doctor was right. She said the problem with TRT is that most men feel so good they want to ramp dosages! I'm guilty. :supercool

ramping up your dose of test will not make you feel better. it can actually make you feel worst.. don't forget test aromatizes into estrogen, also test comes with side effects associated with water weight like high bp, kidney strain, and insomnia are the 3 main ones. the TRT dose you are on is keeping your levels at a comfortable level.

since you have already lost 100 pounds I would say continue waht you are doing..

diet is #1
moving your body around and not being a couch potato is #2

watching a show for an hour vs. taking the dogs for a hike or going swimming etc. gotta pick the right choice.

Again thanks. I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. I've worked on the 100lbs. over a two year period so I just need "time" to continue work on the last 35lbs.

No question I'm losing fat and building muscle. Over the last 3 months I've only lost 5lbs, but 3 belt loops and I can no longer fit into any on my suit coats. Way to tight in the chest. :D

^^^ good job.

i find if i slack on my diet even for a meal i will see it in my gut... i am obsessed with mantaining a flat stomach.

i find staying away from sugars, bad fats, bad carbs and dairy helps keep me trim

when in doubt eat a lot of veggies and fruit. pick a chicken salad with no dressing over the gut food at restaurants. these little things can make a huge diff
