customs snag?

Someone I know has been waiting 5 weeks for a package that normally takes 3 weeks to get here. If it was snagged by customs, how long would it take to get one of those confiscation letters?

It varies. It could just be slow processing. Not necessarily a seizure.

Now if it IS a seized package, they could be in the process of documenting it and then sending out the seizure letter. I am sure they don't send the letter out the same day they inspect the package and decide to grab it. probably has to go to another department or something.

Some people have ordered things and received the letter MONTHS after it was actually snagged.

Best thing to do is for your friend to ask for a tracking # to see where his sports cream is sitting at the moment.

The letter will be months away. Get the tracking number, look it up and it will say Customs or waiting for Customs Approval. 5 weeks, it's probably gone.

Some can take a few weeks others can take months. Sometimes Customs will hold letters waiting to see if other packages in the same name are coming through. Some many factors come into play.

dude..sometimes you will never get a seizure letter. When mine gets snagged I always close my po box and re open another one. I like to be safe, and never send it to your home address. Just my 2 cents.

If you live in a more rural area, opening and closing p.o. boxes would be very suspicious. As far as sending it to your house....IF they want you, they WILL get you.

Do you need to show ID to get a P.O. box? It's now week six and no package, no letter. A friend of mine said they don't go after anyone unless it was a lot of stuff, but they might flag the name on the package for traveling purposes.

if youre in northern nj like your location says, youre probably in a highly populated area. if the post office and police are bored, they still probably wouldnt go after it if its personal use. if your in sussex county out west, you could be in more of a situation with cops and po having free time to investigate.
