i thought this wouldve killed me but wasnt as bad as i thought..i liked it....we'll see tomorow tho.

if you went as heavy as you could on your flat bench and boards, you did good. when you're doing those exercises, don't save anything for the next exercise. just suck it up and continue
 
only thing i couldve went heavier on today was 2board bc my boards were too long and they werent really stable...ill fix that b4 next workout.......

and situations changed and now the meet i was suppose to do next weekend is back on for me,,so now i gotta take off after sun, i guess....first meet but i guess i would take off just like i would for strongman comp right...bout a week.?

yes its a full meet....i also have a question bout attempts. i've never done this evidently so i have no idea how to go bout it...say for bench for instance...last i maxed was 275...1st time i maxed in shirt but it didnt kill me...prolly had a lil more left..so where should i start my attempts?
 
what is the lightest weight you can touch in your shirt?

openers should be easy, they are to get you in the meet, and keep you in the meet.

last full meet i picked openers that were redicusouly easy. the thing about that is, when you smoke your opener it makes you feel good, makes the next attempts seem easier i think. also i was talking to lou about this and he said the same things, there is really no reason to open up heavy. what goes through your mind if you have to struggle with an opener, or even a last warmup.

thanks man...and yea i think it's gonna be really addicting too...i liked the workout yesterday and i dont feel too beat up today either. we'll see how ohp goes today.

It always amazes me to see guys pick their m,ax as an opener.

I watched a guy go 715 715 715 and blow all 3 attempts not to mention the second attempt looked like he was out of gas and the 3rd attempt he was dead.

He probably could have opened with 700 and blazed it.

liftbig told me to pick a opener that would be way easy just to get my foot in the door and get my confidence up. he told me to open raw and light since i cant get much less than my current max to touch.
 
Liftbig is absolutely right. Always open light. Your best bet is to open with something that you can double or triple easily. Once you get your opener then you can be more aggressive.
 
Back when I was entering these I would usually open about 75% of my "shirted" max. It seemed to be a nice place for me.

Like the other guys said if you open too heavy and blow it, it KILLS you and its all up hill from there:(

Are you using any dumbells in your routine? Just by using these for a schedule of 2weeks on 1week bar, I was able to gain about 20% on my max....guess the different angles really help me out in my dead zone.
