Creatine?!?!

How many opinions on whether it should be cycled for 8-10 weeks on/off or just taken on a regularly daily basis?

Cycle to give your receptors a break and so they wont get downgraded.

Normal cycle is 6-8 weeks, but I would say to keep taking it as long as your still seing gains.

You'll hear every opinion out there on this one- and I can't tell you that there's one definitive answer. From my experience, you can benefit from creatine use year round. After the inital loading phase, five grams a day should keep your creatine levels high. It's not the wonder drug that many say it is- most of the weight you gain from it can be attributed to water, but it is very useful for recovery. With the current price of creatine today, you can't go wrong by making it the base of your supplement regimine.

Random fact; Liquid creatine doesn't work and is not stable in liquid form. One entire bottle of muscle media liquid creatine has 5g of active creatine in it, and the rest is waste product creatineine, ive had these tests run at a lab myself. BTW 5g means your must drink 2 bottles of it in order to get a proper daily dosage.

Titrated Creatines

Anyone had any experiences with the so called "titrated" creatines like Crea-sol/Anvasol-R (by muscle link)? Supposedly has all of the benefits of the effervescent creatines (solubility, etc.) without the expense.

Just curious to see if anyone is taking these, or has taken them recently and what their gains were or were not.

I've tried a lot of them, effervescent, liquid, etc. My conclusion is that nothing is more effective than regular, white, cheap, creatine monohydrate taken with juice.

I don't load and I cycle 8 weeks on, 4 off. That works for me.

Here's the poor man's version of effervescent creatine:

1 tub of EAS Phosphagen 1400 grams- 26.00
Box of generic, supermarket brand "alka-seltzer"- 2.00-4.00 per box

Combine the two, and you have the same shit that major supplement companies are charging 40-50 bucks per 20 servings!
The poor man's cocktail will yield you a good 4-5 months of creatine and each box of "alka-seltzer" is good for about twenty servings.

I was really more interested in the titrated stuff, not so much the effervescent.....In this month's issue of Iron Man Mag, they had an article about the titrated stuff that raved about it, explaining why it was far more superior than any of the other creatine's out on the market, blah, blah, blah.....being the skeptic that I am, I wanted to see if anyone had had any personal experience with this stuff.

Can't remember why the article said it was so much better, but sounded convincing at the time I was reading. Any one else read the article that remembers their logic/science behind the claims?
