Creatine, what brand for starters

Tubby

New member
Ive started with EAS strength series monohydrate creatine I bought from wal mart and have been using it for a week. I called GNC to get some info on creatine and possible side effects and they said I should use powder but not from Wal Mart. Im not a dummy and realize that obviously they would not recommend buying anything but from them but what does everyone here think. BTW ive been using EAS creatine powder form for about a week and I seem do get a little light headed and dizzy while working out, the more Im reading though about Creatine I think Ive realized im NOT drinking enough water. SUGGESTIONS...COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!Im not too cheap to buy what I need to take but Im not looking to get ripped off, what brands do you guys recommend......

EAS is not that bad of a creatine. Last I heard it was around 87% pure but it could be better now that test was done about 7 years ago. At that time Dymatize was at the top of the list at almost 99% pure. Make sure to up your intake of water it will help you a lot while on creatine monohydrate.

Buy some Prolab creatine.

$25.00 for 1000grams..... can't beat that.

And you should drink at least a gallon of water a day whether on creatine or not. :fro:

**Oh and next time you should post something like this in the supplements forum....

I used EAS creatin called phosphagen( it's already mixed with dextrose) about 6 yrs ago. For the first two weeks nothing happend. But in third week, my strength shoot through the roof and put on almost 20LB of weigh within a to month cycle( which after dieting i ended up with 10lb solid muscle). BOy, i was getting huge pumps and my veins were poping out. A lot of my friends were asking me if i were on steroids. I need to mention that i was eating alot ( pitzza buffet, protein shake,..) and working out very intensly. I was very happy with results. When i took creatine for the second time around i did not get the result as i got first time . These days when i take creatine it gives me more endurance rather than gains. So, i think( based on my experience) it works really good first time if loaded with high calorie diet and intense training.

cell tech stacked with nitro tech, best shit there is, ive gained 8 pds in 2 weeks on it. solid muscle mass.

I'd go with the V12 from SAN or a product called TRAC from MHP. TRAC has arginine in it and some other good stuuf. Supposedly makes it time released. I've gotten good results from it/

cell tech is the shit...nothing else beats it...that v12 stuff is pretty good, too, but its a little bit newer on the market - CELL TECH!

if you use creatine, you NEED to be drinking 100 -120 oz. of water a day, at least 10 glasses!

as far as brands go, i would use the effervescent type of creatine as it is predigested and causes absolutely NO stomach upset. i have gotten better results from it than regular shit creatine. twinlab makes a good one called creatine fizz fuel which goes for a dollar a serving if you buy at vitamin shoppe. you don't need to load on creatine. thats a bunch of bullshit, trust me. you get what you pay for. cell tech will have you farting and shitting. i'm sure alot of you can realte...

Muscle tech products are good but they're expensive as hell....

You'll be fine with old creatine monohidrate by prolab... very good product and cheap too, just be sure to drink a lot of water...

Please Lord tell me this is a joke.

Muslce tech is junk! What is wrong with you people?

Ive heard good stuff on that v12. If anything just buy the powder if you wanna add empy calories just add a cup of sugar to each serving same useless results.

Natures best, 1000g $21.50 dpsnutrition

Don't waste your money on celltech, way too expensive. I do not disagree that it yields gains but, the difference in plain ole monohydrate compared to celltech, isn't worth spending 10x as much on.

I've had really good results with Syntrax Swole, but I'll give the V12 a shot of it's carb free like the swole.

what lol, im curious as to what is so funny, and its not expensive, i got 7 pds of the shit for 50 bucks.

I'm laughing cause you sound like a muscletech add... the ones where they make those absurd claims that aren't even remotely true.

The creatine is just a $10 thing of monohydrate mixed with a $10 thing of dextrose for about 3x as many servings as you get with cell-tech. That's it- no magic formula that makes it 1000000x as good as regular creatine.

The protein is just that... protein... same stuff as any high quality brand. Maybe a few extra aminos but its dubious as to how well they're used by the body anyways.

My friend took that NO2. Ed Byrd the guy who introduced creatine into market and was cofounder of EAS now has his own company MRI makes this NO2. Try it out, my friend had some awesome gains with it.

oh sorry, im not huge into bb or pl, so to me that is a lot, im an amateur boxer, 5th ranked in the state, so keeping my weight group is crucial. so gaining 8 pds in 2 weeks is a shit load for me.

ok guy stop taking it and see what happens over the next few weeks. say goodbye to the eight pounds of solid water you just gained

Yeah, but the strength you gained from the "eight pounds" of water has helped add LBM, which you won't lose.

oh, its solid strength gains, ive gone up a SHIT load, in all my lifts, i doubt ill lose any of it.

I just puchased a cyto sport gainer and it has creatine in it. what do you all think of creatine as partof the mixture of a supplememnt. it has 3 grams a day so i figureif i have 2 shakes a day ill be getting 6 grams. is that enough? Im 6ft and 165lbs.

V12 users.......

I notice it says to take a serving like 30 minutes prior to training. Wouldn't you be better off taking this serving right after training with your PW shake? I would think taking it after training when your body is primed for nutrients would be more efficient then using it prior to training.

thoughts?

on a serious note tubby, i would go with V-12 or Trac. i've had great results from both

I am suprised you are the only one that has mentioned TRAC. I have never tried v-12 but the TRAC has given me some good strenght gains. It is dextrose free so no extra calories. It is fairly expensive, but it is the creatine I have stuck with for over a year and I think it is worth the extra $$$. I have tried lots of diferent creatine's with mixed results, but had solid gains with TRAC.:D

also does v-12 have creatine in it.

BTW, how is the V12 compared to Syntrax Swole?

Syntrax is reformulating their Swole to contain the same tri-creatine malatate that is in V-12. I think the old formula had Creatine citrate, but I'm not sure.

When it comes to creatine, I keep it basic and just go with the cheapest CreaPure. Also micronized stuff is better, raw creatine gave me bad stomach cramps. If you want to get fancy than add Dextrose and ALA and make your own CellTech. Kaizen makes a good, cheap creatine transport that does all the mixing for you. After reading about TRAC, I may add Arginine to my custom mix. And reading about glycerol fuel, it looks like it may be a good addition to the mix. May help with some of the "smoothing" people complain about and superhydrate the muscles. Sorry, didn't mean to sound like a commercial. Also make sure you are drinking enough water(1-2 gallons daily)... but this should be a given with anything.

JG1, why do you want it it to carb free? You need carbs for creatine. If carbs are your worries, than take it post work out.

One of my favorite combo's....

San V12 (2 servings on workout days, 1 on non-workout days)
L-Arginine (2.5 grams / day)
ALA (500 mgs / day)

good luck - CB

For me the best creatin is the prolab créatin monohydrate or the Optimum (it's creapure)

And i will do my stack for my next cure:
5 g creatine
30 g white sugar
40 g maltodextrin
20 g whey
20 g casein
1 tablespoon sunflower's oil
ALA/chrome pycolinate/arginine

Ive been taking San's V12 for about 9 or 10 days and I love it. Getting some serious pumps in the gym and the grape flavor tastes damn good. I take it 30 mins before my breakfast and immediately postworkout. Ive taken cell-tech and prolabs creapure before and i'll stick with the V12.

If you really like your cell-tech you could make it yourself, just get prolabs 1000 g creapure, a 10 lb tub of dextrose from supplesmentsdirect.com and some Glucorell and you'll save some $$$.

I would believe so, since with creatine monohydrate you absorb a small percentage of what you consume. Thats the reason why you load the creatine for 5 days. Where with V12 or syntrax the creatine is bonded (with magnesium?) to increase absorbability.

Its the same deal with L-Glutamine and glutamine peptides.

Hope that helps.

Motar

excuz me i'm bad, i want to say that with the L-glutamine we absorb a small percentage of what you consume, no?. So you load the L-glutamine like the creatine for 5 days?

Go with vitamin shoppes house brand. Its the only creatine that really worked for me and its cheap. I took vitamin shoppes- crea glu tech on the days I lifted and just plain creatine on off days and saw excellent results.
