Creatine Monohydrate

Hi Everybody...

What is the best way to use Creatine Monohydrate?
Before Or After Exercise? And Did Anybody using it have had side effects?

I take up to 30 gms. a day split into 3 servings. I would say the most important time to take it is after you work out. Do not take it with a caffeine b/c it neuturalizes it. Take with a juice like grape juice the glucose helps transport the creatine through your body. I've taken creatine for years and no side effects. Articles mention cramping as a big problem, but that only happens when you don't hydrate your body enough. Drink plenty of water!
 
I have read that creatine has a short helf-life in the body, so if you want the strength gains do it before you work out. You might be able to get an extra rep or two if you are doing stuff in about the 8-12 rep range. It won't increase your 1RM.

Acid breaks down creatine so the juice thing prolly isn't a good idea. Almost all commercial preparations of grape juice contain ascorbic acid as a preservative.

If you REALLY want to send that stuff into your muscles, take 5-10 grams on an empty stomach and then follow with dextrose about 5-15 minutes later. However I doubt that the extra hassle is worth it, just drink the creatine together with the dextrose. It'll also help it go down easier.

atleast 20 mgs a day split in 2 doses like when you wake u then post workout. try the supplement board you may get more answers.....peace
