creatine and protein shakes?

mayhems

New member
if i starting taking like 1 serving a day of creatine and a shake when i wake up or after lifting will i see an increase over time? or am i just better staying all natural?

I think you should take protein shakes atleast, because when I was taking protein shakes I was noticing results, and I have been lifting natural for about 3-4 months now and haven't seen much improvement, but I finally bought some more shakes so hopefully I will start too see faster results again.
Im sure with creatine you will see even faster results if you have the powder. I tried the serum and it didn't seem to do much for me.

taking shakes does not make you unnatural.

if you are putting the work in the gym, and eating shit loads of goodies like steaks, eggs, your veggies, all pork products, gallons of milk, and having a sandwich with cold cuts any chance in between, i do not believe there is any reason why you would not be growing. don't throw your money away on that powdered crap unless you are sure you need it. plus, food tastes better.

Generally I would totally agree with what you just said super_rice, but I have found protein supps to be invaluable to me. I make progress whether I take them or not, but it is much easier to get in my total alotment for protein in a day when drinking 2-3 protein shakes a day which leads to better resutls from training.

I don't care how good a protein powder is, it's still not better than food. The only purpose it serves for me is it doesn't fill me up too much and I can get high quantities of protein without going to crazy on the total calories.

There are several reasons a person may use protein powders.

i don't count my cals, i'm pretty sure i'm getting enough though, with all the cold cuts i'm stuffing in between meals.

i've been considerging a power though... to tell you the truth, i don't know anything about it. i was just saying that one should have their solid food diet and training in place before worrrying about creatine and such. the only supp i take is glucosamine. but then again i hesitate before taking a tylenol :p

if your able to get all your protein in with whole food then your doing a damn good job..i cant eat that much nor do i always have the time to cook everything so i use at least 2 sometimes 4 shakes per day..i always get in 3 sizeable whole food meals per day..

some people respond to creatine and others dont..i notice no difference when using it..then again i dont really care about "pumps" LOL..try if you dont notice anything then dont waste your money

Buy some whey and creatine and take them right before a workout

They're each relatively cheap and the benefits of both are highly proven

I lift with a guy sometimes that doesnt take any protein powders, or creatine. He lifts all natural but he has to watch everything he eats to make sure hes getting enough protein, carbs etc. But since I live in the dorms its hard for me to figure all that stuff out, plus what we have to eat is random and if its crap I have to settle for a salad, so its easier for me to take a couple protein shakes a day. I found that muscle milk is a really good protein shake, it tastes awsome. I also just ordered Optimum Pro Comlex because this guy was telling me that with 100% whey alot of it gets broke down before it gets to your muscles and that this was a lot better. I don't know but I guess i'll find out. I just hope it tastes as good as muscle milk cause 100% whey sucked :P

Hate to tell you bro, but because optimum pro complex has powdered egg in it, it probably will not taste as good as 100% whey which I thought tasted ok, nor will it probably mix as easy.

I like the taste of muscle milk. I like the taste of cytogainer. I really like the taste of both of them mixed together haha. Expensive though.

I used MRM's metabolic whey and it's the best tasting chocolate protein powder I've used imo.

Interested in trying Dymatize chocolate powder too. Heard good things about that.

Before ?

Anyway, protein powder is a convenient way to eat more protein (I don't feel like cooking a steak at 10.30pm for a before bed protein shot)
