Cottage cheese

I am new to this site. A couple days ago I saw some post on Cottage cheese and how beneficial it was in slowing down digestion. I was wondering why that is a good thing?
 
i think it has to do with the type of protein. maybe cottage cheese before bed to get you through the night. probably any other time during the day, maybe not rigth after workout.

Cottage cheese contains casein, which is a very slow-digested protein. It is good to eat before bed, because you will be fasting for 8 hours. By eating casein, you will have a fairly steady supply of protein for your body. On the other hand, if you were to take a whey shake before bed, it would be digested too quickly and your body would be without protein for most of the night.
