Cottage Cheese Ideas

I want to start eating cottage cheese...but having consistency issues. I can deal with the taste, but not the consoitency of it. Yuck.

Can I blend it with a shake? What else could it mix with? How does everyone eat their CC?

A lot of choices...

1) Mix cottage cheese with salsa
2) Mix cottage cheese with olive oil/flax
3) Mix cottage cheese with A.N. Peanut Butter
4) Mix cottage cheese with the aforementioned ideas together :D

You can blend it into your shakes, it's not bad and u can't notice it

sometimes i mix it with protein powder and ANPB that's really nice!

i even sometimes mix it with oatmeal :)

w/ protein powder

w/ cocoa powder + splenda

w/ cinnamon + splenda

Quite often people mix it with yogurt, I dont know if that would completely clear the texture issue.

I usually eat it with splenda, cinamon, and either rasberries or strawberries. I can't stand the texture, but for some reason if I have it with berries and this other stuff I am able to handle it at least for a month and then I take a break.

I like the "whipped" cottage cheese better than the regular for texture....it's drier & doesn't have the liquid with it that you have to drain off. Also it's almost like cream cheese (thick) so if you can have crackers, mixed with spices it's a great spread. Good on sandwiches too (if you can eat bread)

I also like cc with chopped tomato & pepper.

But try the whipped or dry flake pot style -- it's not as gooey if that's what you don't like about it....

WHOA...this sounds right up my alley. It's the slime and chunks that bother me! You rock. :)

And can't mix it with Tuna....smells like cat food to me. Plus, if I start eating Tuna I'll have to fight the cat for it....and she's ruthless when it comes to food.

rice cakes......great idea! ONE of the worst possible foods you could eat due to it's glycemic load and nutrional base.......

1 cup cottage cheese
1/3 cup whey protein poweder (I use chocolate)
1 cup frozen raspberries/bluberries
1/2 cup uncooked old fashioned oatmeal

Mix the cottage cheese and protein powder up and then add the oatmeal and berries. Mix with a spoon and enjoy. I eat this for breakfast.

add some chopped tomatoes, green peppers, cucumber and onion (optional). it tastes great this way, kinda like a greek salad where the cheese dominates :D

FOR A SWEET DISH, cottage cheese and sf jello....little ff cool whip, maybe some splenda...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....thank me later.

Goes great with scrambled eggs, mix it in with the beaten eggs and cook. Very nice
This is the best. Six scrambled eggs and cottage cheese is my breakfast every morning here lately.

all great ideas...

i put mine in the microwave for 30 seconds, that makes it more liquidy. Then i add splenda and it goes down smooth. If i dont microwave it, it takes forever to swallow but after microwaving it goes down with ease.

I have ate it with whip cream...you could make your own and sweeten w/ splenda, and some sugar free jello powder for flavor. Lime is good, or orange. Mix it all together, it's really good, i'd even throw in some chopped almonds or whatever nut you like for good measure, and some pineapple if your diet allows.
