Yes, cytadren (Aminoglutethimide) WILL help block Cortisol, the problem is that the cortisol WILL come back and usually in higher levels then before - I ran it back in the day and after the cycle of cytadren I realized it was a horrible idea. The true use of Cytadren is Anti-E properties, which have been overlooked by this cortisol issue. Basically, Cytadren (Aminoglutethimide) inhibits the desmolase enzyme, which temporarily decreased production of cortisol. Contrary to popular belief, there is no evidence, nor good reason to believe, that reducing cortisol below normal would be of benefit to the weight training athlete, and considerable evidence that it is a bad idea.

why/how would reducing cortisol be a bad thing? excuse my ignorance

The problem is not the actual reduction (although in the long-term it is a problem), it's the REBOUND after the reduction that becomes the main problem. Imagine your body with a ton of cortisol, just not a good idea.

Catabolism is essential for anabolism.

Also, cortisol has many function, including releasing stored fat and glycogen for energy use.

Of course, one can have too much cortisol, then the process starts to reverse almost.

but anyways, its an essential hormone and one just needs to keep it within the ranges, not obliterate it completely.

Not sure if any of those trully reduce cortisol, but if they "do" why not :) vitamins and whey protein never hurt anyone - but stay away from sugar, processed white sugar is never good IMO.

ive just always have heard that vit c and calories post workout will halt the release of cortisol

again not sure how true it was.. but looking for real info so why i have your attention :)

thanks again!

phosphatidylserine is a very strong cortisol inhibitor. high enough doses and its actually TOO strong, lol. Anyways with doses around 800-1000mg, %25+ post workout cortisol inhibition is possible. But of course there is such a thing as too much...

there's some threads around here somewhere about it. when I get my platinum back I'll be sure to link ya.

Im wery thankfull for your intressts, and thank you MrX for your good adwise, but do you get a rebound effect if you do 2 days on 2 days off for 20 days?
