what law jobs are their that dont give lie detector? MY major is criminology, I'm starting to worry about what I will do when I graduate

In BC canada, municipal and RCMP make you go thru a lie detector test that includes drug use...as long as your truthful and havn't used any controlled substances in the last year your ok....

some use lie detectors and some dont. all will make ou take a drug test, not for roids, just the heavy stuff.

just tell them the truth about your drug use. dont tell them it was recent and dont say it was too much. the law enforcement agencies knw that everyone was in college at one time.

Around where I live, most of the cops I know take Juice. These guys are some big mofo's. I hooked a few of them up from time to time.

My major is criminal Justice. Everybody's smoked bud in the past, they could give a shit about that. Some departments will disqualify you for harder shit. No departments I know of care about moderate gear use. Departments are hiring like mad and they're letting a lot of shit slide that they wouldn't have a few years ago. Some polygraph, some don't. Some fed jobs require a VSA test which you cannot cheat. Just kiss the proper asses and you'll be fine.

Answer any questions as if you were a boy scout. Unless of course we're talking federal jobs some of which will give you a lie detector test. By itself admitting to casual use won't keep you from getting a job, but it won't help.

making yourself sound too perfect can hurt you. cause then they will think youre lying cause nodobys perfect. it would be better to tell them that you smoked pot a couple times in highschool.

how specific are the questions during the polygraph test? If you did admit to smoking a little pot, would it turn into an interrigation? How much? Where? With whom? How long etc?

I am not sure what kind of position you will get with a masters in Criminal Justice though, but your pay will be reflected! I am getting ready to do the same thing!
I dont think they (POLICE) will be asking about AS usage.......unless you bring it up. They are more intrested in pot, coke, heroin and shit like that! If you have done anything harder than coke.........you lie about it. I know quite a few people who admitted to smoking pot and shit and still got in!
I also, will be taking the police officer test later. (after two years of being a corrections officer and my masters in Criminal Justice)

They don't get real specific as far as with whom, etc. The main thing is that you're not some knucklehead that wants to be a cop but yet to calm your nerves for the test went and did a line of coke. It's a lot better if you smoked some pot a few years ago or did a line years ago rather than the last time you tried it was last week. The standard answer is that you stopped as soon as you became serious about law enforcement as a career and realized that it meant putting your own personal life in order and keeping it unsullied. But the bottom line is, an agency can bump you for not liking the way you signed your name on the application, if they are picky, they are picky. Why do some people get jobs then you read about them in the paper and about their background when the fuck up? Because it all depends on the agency and what they are looking for.
